If I remember right bledoe wasn't playing bad for the pats that year. There was actually allot of debate as to if bledsoe oe Brady should be the starter at the end of the year since Bledsoe never "lost" the starting job.

I'd say he lost it, but hindsight is 20/20

Not saying that at all. But an average QB doesn't win 3 SB's just because of his OL and defense. How many other QB's do you think would be as successful with the supporting cast of skill position players.

I'm not gonna get into some long, drawn out argument about this either. I'm not a Brady fan, and it's not my job to defend him. I just like to give credit where I feel credit is due.
Then you should be as upset as me....because he gets way too much credit. Any QB who doesn't have a history of turnover problems could do well in that system.

And yes, you can win 3 SBs on a defensive football team.

I thought Brady was put in because Bledsoe was hurt? FWIW, I'm pretty sure Bledsoe was 1-0 in the playoffs under Belichick. I'll give credit to Tom Brady for being a good player, but the Pats became successful when they shifted their offensive philosophy to accommodate for having a young, inexperienced Brady at the helm.

I don't think Bledsoe ever started a playoff game for Belichick. I always thought the Patriots were a passing team with Bledsoe. Insert a HOF QB in Brady and he took the Patriots to another level.

yeah, remember that Pats team had an amazing running back. :roll1:

The excuses on this board for Brady's HOF career is hilarious.
Brady has had the line, but not the receivers, and only had a great RB (Dillon in his first year) for one of his super bowls.
He's had less help than Joe Montana or Terry Bradshaw. That much is obvious to anybody.

Agreed that Brady is a hell of a QB, I just get more annoyed with how the media talks up the pats in general. Brady has done some amazing things.

I also wondered if Brady would have become the Brady of today if not for the "tuck rule" call against the Raiders. You can argue that Brady has had the benefit of a good line, but hasn't every great QB had the benefit of some great players around him? Or can the argument by made that the HOF QB makes everyone around him better...

Like what? Sit back for 10 seconds while his WRs get open? Throw screen passes? Hand the ball off?

Oh I know....have his RB fumble the ball, but his OLineman jumps on it after 3 Colts players play with themselves instead of the ball.

Tom Brady easily = Joe Montana in that case.
