I saw the Blue Cross Blue Shield ad again. The one with calendar that expands out.

Yeah, I haven't been able to track that down. I see a lot of BC/BS ads come through, but for me they're all static (no expansion, bad behavior). I have no doubt that you have one that is misbehaving, I just haven't been able to find it and squash it. Will keep looking.

No hurry. Thanks for all you do!

For Google Chrome users, I recently downloaded AdBlock, and couldn't be happier.

I was getting the Healthcare ad that popped up, (with the giant pop out calender) and it was driving me insane! Once I downloaded the AdBlock, Ad Monkey was just a blank space. So if you are having the same annoying ads popping up, feel free to click on the link I posted and download that extension.

For Firefox users, there's THIS

I'd rather continue to try and nuke bad ads than see everyone block the whole of them, but more than most I appreciate the frustration when their behavior is invasive.

We'll continue to try to do our best with it.

Sorry, was just a suggestion to those who would rather not see ads at all. I know it keeps the site running, but it'll stay running without me seeing them, right?

No need to apologize. I've been a long-time advocate of ad blockers and even HOSTS-level ad rewriting. I hate ads, generally speaking, but need them here in order to keep the lights on. My comment was more about offering continued assurance that maintaining as high a quality level of ads while squashing bad ones as quickly and efficiently as reasonably possible continues to be a top priority. I literally go through and look through ad listings (a few hundred) every day. Unfortunately, some of these listings have dozens (or several dozens) of different ads within them and you can't see or find them all.

So block (by all means) if the ads are reducing your enjoyment of the site. But also continue to let us know about the bad ones so we can squash them (when and as possible).

Love everything you've done/are doing to keep this site top notch, Clarity.

I really wish we could find some Columbus businesses to advertise here. They'd do so much better for both BP and its main community, and we'd be able to ensure they ran in a way that didn't annoy people here. Anyone know anyone?

Homage? They seem to be expanding pretty rapidly and might want some exposure online.
