I saw an ad for Royal Caribbean a little while ago....and I just booked a cruise through them last week. Does the site get anything if I say I was referred from here? I wouldn't mind picking up the phone and giving a few people headaches if it means the site gets a little kickback.

edit: to clarify, this cruise has nothing to do with my thread about getting fucked in the ass by a travel agent in the OD.

Curse you! , Lauren (March to the Championship) Thompson. May you die a fiery :hatepc:death! May crows rip your tongue from your still living, burnt form and bitch slap you! May you be half living road kill on I-70 and may fully loaded semis roll over your coyote eaten, writhing form! May flaming space junk fall from orbit upon your screeching body!

Are you getting ads with sound, or is it something about talking, like a phone ad or something? There definitely shouldn't be audio, as we have a block on it.

I have gotten some too... actually...

It's like a sportscenter clip with current events, except I think it is CBS or someone. It changes every week or two with what sports news clip they run.

I also seem to recall that the top banner doesn't seem to be sports related.

It happens fairly often too, and it is extremely loud.

Suspicions; I have them. I'll look into it.

Ads are different depending on location, so it's good to have the reports for things I don't see here. Couple of things that will help the ad provider track it down - what's the actual name of the show, and can anyone grab a screenshot?

We do allow "Play" buttons to start audio or video, but under no circumstances should an ad ever start playing simply because the page was loaded.

Okay, I got one and have a screencap of a mouseover to track. It was from Rovion, Inc. and, oddly, was a pop-up in front of a regular Verizon ad. Checking now.

Edit: Heh, found a quote from a demo their CEO did.

An amusing moment was when the host said, ?Oh, it?s a pop-up ad? and the CEO freaked out? ?No, no, no, it?s NOT a pop-up ad!? Haha.

Evil bastard.

Edit II: Blocked stacked ads (which shouldn't be it) and the specific advertiser with the most similar name I could find, "rovio." Also blocked the possibility of allowing one ad provider swap in another provider's ads, so that should help with identification.

If anyone still sees one of these tonight (takes about 15 minutes for changes to take effect), please let me know. It's highly unlikely that our sports source is sending these, but if they persist I'll ask them to look into it.
