HUGE loss. I remember seeing him on the field quite a bit during the few ND games I watched last season.

Probably our best pass rusher, and he was only a freshman. I would say this is probably the most costly loss of the year as well. He brought a ton of intensity to the DE spot that we didn't have since Justin Tuck. There was a lot of hope that the improving defense would only get better with recruits like this maturing in Bob Diaco's system. Life goes on though, there will still be football next gear, best of luck to Lynch. Kinda bittersweet the way this ended considering how back and forth his recruiting was to begin with, only to end up transferring after the first year anyway.

From post during his recruitment

"He's told me a couple of times he had doubts about Notre Dame," Island Coast coach Joe Bowen said. "It's not one thing. It doesn't have anything to do with the games. I think he wants to stay closer to his friends down here."

"I wasn't really into (Notre Dame's) 3-4 defense," said Lynch. "I'm more of a 4-3 guy. I just really want to stay in Florida."
