A Few Post-Game Thougthts....

i completely agree we lost the battle in the trenches, but it was the speed of their rush ends on the d-line that gave us fits all night long. all the more perplexing why we didn't run the ball to slow down their pass rush.

After reading through all these post-mortem threads, the only thing that makes me feel better is that I now know I wasn't the only one that couldn't sleep last night.

Wish I was in C-Bus now with others that can understand the devastation after the loss. Somewhere in me, I know it's just a game and I know it's stupid to care that much. But I do and that will never change. Go Bucks!

I care that much also - in NYC, where no one cares either, and people think I'm crazy.

Disgust with ESPN

:osu: :osu: :osu: :osu:

I am a student at Clarion University and for the four years in college I have learned a few things. What I have learned is that ESPN is very full of themselves and take pride in poking at a college football player's character as well as putting more added pressure on them, (e.g. draft status, best QB ever?) and constant and unprofessional overanalysis. I just watched ESPN this morning for about 2 and a half seconds. The comment in which i shut off the TV and promptly switched over to "The Deer Hunter" on TMC because I looked at that movie to get me through the day. What strikes me most is how overpaid these analysts are. The only two who are professional and one biased individuals are the GAMEDAY crew (Herbie, Corso, and Fowler). I am so sick of Gene Wojo and Ivan Maisel that I don't even listen to what those fools have to say!!! Four weeks ago they said Ohio State and Michigan were the two best teams in the country. Now they claim that Ohio State and Michigan were "Two good teams in a very bad league"????? I will provide ample statements to prove that these people are full of crap and should be doing high school radio forever, even in purgatory.

This is Why Florida lucked out
1) Ohio State beat two number 2 ranked teams. No team has ever play 3 in a season.

2) Chris Leak is not as good as Troy Smith....We all know that. He almost lost to FSU (21-14W), SCAR (17-16) and lost to Auburn. No member on their team has been pressured by NFL agents, draft scouts, NFL teams and current coaches like the Buckeyes who could have 4 first rounders this year. Ted Ginn could probably start over Chris Leak at QB if he was at Florida.

3) You beat us with dinks, dunks and screen passes. I didn't see Leak throw one pass over 20 yards.

4) Our all-world WR/KR/do it all, Teddy Ginn torched you on the first play of the game but didn't play after that. Was still able to account for 70 percent of the team's offense and without Ginn there is no deep threat, no nuetralizer, no game plan. Period.

5) I am still shocked and appauled by the way the special teams unit played. That unit's coach should be fired. Never have I seen a Tressel coached team allow field position like this. Avg starting point: OSU 25 yard line UF: 47.5-47.5!!! disastrous. Our defense was on the field for almost the entire first half. You cannot really blame them for playing the way they did. Never have I seen Jenkins play that badly all year also.

6) Lets also thank ESPN, the AP, and most of all our good friends at the BCS for once again trying to screw us. The BCS was consisted of the four major bowls such as Rose, Fiesta, Sugar and Orange which are laden with rich tradition. But here comes Notre Dame and Charlie Weiss with a fluke 9 win season last year that placed them in the Fiesta Bowl which was then on the 3rd or 4th of January if I recall. Ohio State's game this year is on the 8th which gave them a 50 plus day layoff. I don't care who you are, you can't stay loose and be mentally ready for a football game. The Big Ten does not have a conference title game. Florida benefits from playing weak teams and also from the extra game. The Big 12, ACC both do and they have had the most representatives in a national championship game since the BSC started (no, it's not a typo). The bottom line is that the extra BCS game does nothing for conferences such as the Big Ten. The layoff was the most in history.

7) Urban Meyer is no Jim Tressel. They share the same geographical connection with both being from Ohio but that is were it ends. Thank Ron Zook for your title, Urban. Cherish it while it lasts because we will see you again soon, hopefully. Jimmy Tressel will reload and I won't be surprised if we land back in the title game (with a 59 day layoff this time) with Beanie Wells, Pittman and a new crop of defensive wizards.

8) Ah yes, Troy Smith. Heisman winner. 25-3 as a starter. Chris Leak has 12 losses-12!!!! He was just rattled because of the NFL and calls from agents, sportscasters and ESPN promo spots. Chris Leak doesn't have that problem because he will be the 9th string QB for the Toronto Argonauts in 2007. Troy Smith will hopefully be with the Browns and winning. I would of paid to see Florida play Texas last year and this year.

9) Florida is not the best team in past decade. Nor even in the top 20. I couldn't see this year's Florida team beat Miami in 02 or OSU in 02.

10) This is for Ivan Maisel and Gene Wojochowski. You are both incompetent people and you deserve never to speak on national TV again. I am embarassed as a college student to think that you two who probably went to college for 6 years each could leave out facts about Ohio State like you did. The Big Ten is a bad league and the SEC is soooo much better?
Penn State beat Tennessee, 20-10. Florida beat Tennessee by two points, genious. Wisconsin beat Arkansas, 17-14 which the only begs the question how overrated the SEC actually was. The only team that is elite in the SEC is LSU. South Carolina is horrid and so is Alabama. Auburn is just sloppy on both sides of the ball, which beat FLORIDA!!!! ESPN used to be professional and fun to watch. Now they are just riding on athletes coat-tails and looking for a story-A.K.A NUTT-RIDING.

ESPN can kiss my butt. The one reason we might of lost this game is because the football gods were frowning on us. In 2002 no one gave us a chance and we had no business being on the same field as the Miami Hurricanes. I am still cherishing that game.....We Bucks' fans have the rest of our lives to cherish that beautiful upset because to be honest with you the 07 title game just wouldn't of compared to that title. Win or lose I still love the Buckeyes. For all you people who are still down this morning, just breath and relax (drink some brews, too). Remember '02 guys. Because I will forever and no one can take that from us!

Oh hey, I literally feel hungover and didn't drink yesterday, I slept horribly, and that's all despite finding peace with the loss even before the final second ticked away.

It's hard to find much value in looking for positive in such an enormous negative, but one thing that does bring a smile to my face today is that as down as we are right now -- it's just going to make our next high that much better.

We had little reason to be hungry this year as a team, and there was ample reason not to worry about that. We're going to be hungry, and we're going to more-than-just-want another title shot. College football is a game driven by emotion and momentum, and a very deep and well-coached team is soaking in the disappointment and disrespect right now.

History shows that a determined team is often more successful than merely a talented team. We should have both every year going forward until we have an opportunity to right yesterday's wrong. Mike Hart guaranteed a win next year? That simp has no idea what the ball that started rolling late last night is going to feel like when it crashes into Ann Arbor next year.

Am I silly enough to say we're going to steamroll next year with so many offensive losses? Nope. But I believe we're going to see a hungry team next year, and we only have to look as far as Gainesville to see what one of those can do, even when no one gives them a chance to pull it off.

you're a sore loser, "buckeyepride." ohio state was beat by the better team. that's it.

oh, and you don't fire your special teams coach because of what happened yesterday. how are the two stupid 15-yard penalties their fault, as well as the poor field position that the offense repeatedly allowed? by the way, special teams accounted for 50% of the team's scoring.

get over yourself.

It's hard being in another town, especially an SEC town after a game like that. I was impressed though by the turnout of Ohio State fans at the BW3's I went to but it was obvious who everyone was pulling for when chants of "SEC, SEC, SEC" rang out. It was hard for me to watch and I had to leave after the first half. I think I watched 2 drives of the second half and called it a night.

Worst part of the whole thing is just the way we played. If we would have come out and played a decent game and still got beat, yeah I would have been disappointed, pissed off, etc..........but to have played the way we did, to look that bad on both sides of the field.......I just feel sick. Oh and do they ever come out of the woodwork when you loose. I had a countless number of messages from "new" gator fans. I said this before the game and I still believe it after last night.......you match any team in the nation against us in a best of 3 series......we win at least 2 of 3. Gators just happened to catch us on that off night.

No. They weren't the better team. You know it. I know it. Most of all Gators fans know it. I think Satan helped them win tonight.

don't tell me what i know. your posts are ignorant and biased to the point of being absurd. don't be a sore loser, though that it is likely too difficult for you. the better team does not lose by 27 points. your calling for the firing of someone on our coaching staff because of one game shows us exactly what type of fan you are, and it's not one we want to have here.

No. I wouldn't want him to be fired literally but that wasn't the same team I saw all year. If you offered me 10 million dollars to say that Florida was the better team all year I would still say no. Troy Smith wasn't himself for the first time in his career. Has he ever played like that? No. I am a true fan. You do not know what the hell your talking about.

I want to add my 2 cents... and sorry but I have not read the other information because I dont want to read your posts, cut and dry!

I dont understand the 2 personal fouls to start the game.

The non-exsistant run game.

The line being stuck in mud vs the UF D-Ends.

The 10 yard cusion by our DB's all night when ONE- YES ONE PASS was thrown pass the first down marker.

I believe we were straight up outmuscled on the lines and outprepared and outcoached in the OSU defense versus UF Offense and our O-line was just flat, and not prepared.

I think we were so afraid of their trick plays and what not.........that we tried to keep from getting burned by them so we played back to keep everything in front of us. We played on our heals and it bit us in the ass. They nickeled and dimed us all the way down the field. We took no chances on defense and Leak was never pressured the entire game. We made him look like Peyton Manning with all those short dump passes.
