A Few Post-Game Thougthts....

which is why you're turning red, right?

[sarcasm] No, clearly he is a better poster. The fact that your opinion is respected and almost everyone here agrees with you doesn't mean that you know what you are talking about. And just because he crawls out of the woodwork the day after an ugly loss doesn't mean he is on the ledge. If you offered me 10 million dollars to say that you are the better poster, I would still say no. [/sarcasm]

No. They weren't the better team. You know it. I know it. Most of all Gators fans know it. I think Satan helped them win tonight.

I agree with you. I watched FL throughout the year and they are good but not great. We are a better team than Florida but we were not the better team last night. I blame a lot of the loss to coaching. Tressel needed to make adjustments to the line and to abandon the run is outright baffling. Tressel usually makes good adjustments and coaches extremely well and last night that obviously didn't happen. But I don't want to rip Tressel too much because he's been so good but not last night.

No, I'm not crawling out of the woodwork after a loss. I just thought that I would voice my displeasure with everything bad about college football. Even there are some great things about it, I just will be damned if anyone from ESPN disrespects my team. I bet Herbie wants to kick some ass at that place. We always will have a chance with Jim Tressel.

Hey folks we are all upset and hurting but please stop fighting amongst each other. Don't rip someone for venting and giving their opinion. Others have good siteful things to say and if they don't leave them alone don't rip them. Its low class and you're only hurting another fellow buckeye fan it makes no sense. Remember we do have freedom of speech. Last time I checked its a constitutional right and by ripping people you are trying to suppress it. Let them talk and vent. They are entitled to it. If you don't like want they say just skip the post. They aren't forcing you to reading.

I think we were so afraid of their trick plays and what not.........that we tried to keep from getting burned by them so we played back to keep everything in front of us. We played on our heals and it bit us in the ass. They nickeled and dimed us all the way down the field. We took no chances on defense and Leak was never pressured the entire game. We made him look like Peyton Manning with all those short dump passes.

Well, I think in the first half they ran so many trick plays it just confused the buckeye defense. Watching that little pass up the center everytime they got a third down just frustrated me.

There's still one thing that confuses me though. If you take Teddy Ginn II out of the game do you effectively neutralize Troy Smith? I mean I have never seen him have a game that bad before, even the Ill. game where they didn't score in the second half he could at least get a first down when he needed to. That game was so uncharacteristic of him, normally he's accurate and quick, last night, not so much.

And one last thing, what happened to our line? I mean seriously, I think the Gators could have just rushed one person and go through.

They have a right to bitch and everyone else has a right to rip them if they choose to spew nonsense. Freedom of speech works both ways.

Criticizing another poster is low class? I don't think so. No, ripping a recruit for going to another school is low-class.

1) There are plenty of ways to discuss the game without bashing players or coaches.

2) There is no freedom of speech on a privately-owned forum. Therefore, you aren't entitled to jack on BP...

3) Bashing will earn you a trip out of here.

There is your constitution according to Clarity...

Something to consider.....

I imagine that we feel just like Florida fans did on January 3, 1996. The night before, an undefeated Florida Gator team (12-0-0, SEC outright champs) went into the Fiesta Bowl to play the national title game against Nebraska. Well, that evening, the Gators got their own tails chomped, 62-24, in one of the classic beat-downs in the history of college football. But, guess who won the championship the very next season? The Florida Gators....

Now, I'm not saying that Ohio State will win it all next year, or even come close, but the Buckeyes will be back eventually.

Let's also remember that Jim Tressel won four national titles at Youngstown State ... but that he also lost two. Even coaching geniuses have bad days.

I don't blame it on the coach. A lot of things have to be adjusted on the fly.

Defensively:
Inside linebackers should know that they need to protect the flats when they're showing pass, and DB's should have not played soft and given Florida a 5 yard cusion. The D line, although not bad lastnight they didn't play great, I wanted to see explosion, I wanted them to rip some heads off....that didn't happen.

Offensively:
The O-line made me sick to my stomach lastnight...I know Florida has some big guys up front, but still, so did Michigan. Troy didn't run out of the pocket...with Ginn gone it should have been off to the races with him..was he worried about getting hurt before going pro? Don't get me wrong I love the kid, but come on! Pittman however did a great job....why didn't we run it more? I just don't understand. Poor coaching does come into play offensively, and Jimmy T....I love ya man, but WTF!?

I don't know that they ran many trick plays. There I think there was 1 planned counter, 1 coutner that PH decided to run the other way, 1 Tebow misdirection and a few surprising option plays ran for Leak instead of Tebow.

They ran 2,492,039,482 passes over the middle for good gains and several outside screen/pitch/short passes for moderate yards. They nickel and dimed their way up and down the field and punched it in the end zone with short passes on blown coverages (Jenkins twice) and hard runs. None of that was tricky.
