Sincere condolences, WW. It sounds like your father was truly loved, and that is the mark of a life well lived.

Best of luck getting though this tough time - the first month or two is the worst of it, but it will get better.

For total strangers to show the concern that all of you have over the past 11 months in overwhelming. I wish that I could e-mail this thread to The "better place" where my dad is resting, but he knows. I showed him this thread back in December when he was diagnosed and he laughed (you had to know his personality-its where I got mine from) and said "those people need to get a life."

I guess I've grown up quite a bit during this whole ordeal. Dad passed about half way through the second quarter of the Illinois game. The Hospice people came back, and the funeral home came and picked up his body, and yet the game still went on. And when it was over, for the first time in my life, I was able so say after this loss that "It's Only A Football Game," because, in the Grand Scheme of things, it's all that it was, win or lose.

Wow, I like your Dad already. He's 100% correct.
