With a very heavy heart, I'm posting here to let my Buckeye camrades out there know that my dad passed away today at approx. 4:10pm.

It's been a really tough past 11 months, and unfortunately the Chemo, the radiation, and the Gamma Knife were not just not strong enough to kill this horrible disease that sent my dad from a completely healthy 68 year old man who worked 45 hours a week until the day he was diagnosed into about a 120 pound man who on his final day couldn't speak a word. To watch your "hero" laying in bed trying with every ounce of energy that he has left in his dying body trying to tell you how much he "loves you back" and not being able to do so is something that I hope nobody here ever has to go through.

Just a bit of advice from somebody that went through it to those of you that still have a living dad. NEVER, let the "guy" thing get in the way of letting your dad know how much you love him.

Prayers and condolences my friend. I was away from the site for 3 months because my mother also died of cancer in July. I'll echo your advice and pass on to everyone that you all should enjoy the time you have with your family above all else...no one dies wishing they had spent more time at work. To you Dubs, may your family's burden be eased in any way it can be.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers to you & your family.
Now that I will sometime be going through a divorce(unexpected) my parents finally are getting to understand how important they are to me & that I am truly blessed they both beat this wicked disease called cancer & given a second chance at life & are respecting their only child they do have.

Also on another note I have a very dear friend who is a musician whom has an inoperable brain tumor who is still doing what he does best while going through treatments & is not giving up what so ever.

Sorry for your loss, WW. Nothing in life really prepares you for watching a parent be changed by disease. Remember all the good times and make sure you pass along as many of the good things he taught you as you possibly can. My prayers will be with you and your family.
