sadly defense alone wont get you in the NBA but lightys offense game looks like it has approved on all fronts...im sure he impressed many of the NBA scouts that were in attendance today...i think he has a good shot at the NBA and i would expect him to go in the 2nd round sometime...who knows if he has a hell of a year this year then he could go into the first round...2nd game into the year last year i dont think anyone thought turner would be the #2 pick in the draft so you never know

He'll play somewhere...he fits international style basketball better anyways. Those guys overseas get good money and sometimes its not taxed so he'll be fine.

I have a buddy who has a son that got a job playing low-mid level professional soccer for a club in Sweden. On a visit home his dad asked him "How was the money?" Kid told him, "They haven't asked me to pay them yet, so it's all good."

Soccer groupies in Sweden make it a win-win deal in any financial situation is seems.

Kyle Lamb now doing work for Along The Olentangy...

Ohio State leaves swamp high and dry

by KyleSLamb on Nov 17, 2010 2:47 AM EST

When Florida (1-1) took an early 7-point lead late in the first half Tuesday against Ohio State (2-0), painful memories of the 2006 trip to Gainesville surely crept into the minds of Buckeye fans everywhere. But unlike that 26-point loss to eventual National Championship opponent Florida, this Ohio State team weathered the tropical storm.

ESPN built this game as the highlight of the 2010 college basketball marathon. And quite honestly, for about 30 minutes on Tuesday, it lived up to its billing. But then, instead of history repeating itself like that December encounter back in 2006, a funny thing happened: Florida became the gator bait.

While detractors might conclude Florida was grossly overrated as a top-10 team, and perhaps time will conclude that, Ohio State's 93-75 victory was a testament to the mixture of both talent and experience at Thad Matta's disposal. Florida, even being perhaps somewhat overrated, has top-10 talent and provided a championship atmosphere for the Buckeyes to test their mettle.

http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/18160/sullinger-buckeyes-make-a-statement

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Evan Turner had prepared Jared Sullinger for what was to come at Ohio State.

He publicly said at the NBA draft the Buckeyes would have a Big Ten freshman of the year and even possibly a Big Ten player of the year. He didn?t hesitate to say that even without him -- last season?s national player of the year -- the Buckeyes could be a better team.

Privately, according to Sullinger, he was prepping OSU's highly touted forward on how to handle his stardom.

?He helped me manage everything,?? said Sullinger, who noted he has known Turner for a while, even though he never played with him. ?He told me about how to deal with the hype, the local celebrity stuff and to understand who I am and what I have to do to be successful in the game of basketball.??

Sullinger said Turner?s words were direct: listen to coach Thad Matta.

?He?s been there, he?s coached in a national championship and had a whole bunch of NBA basketball players,?? Sullinger said.

Turner knows of what he speaks.

Doug Gottlieb just stated on SC that OSU is better than Duke. He also said Sully was the best freshmen. Maybe this win is bigger than I thought. I thought maybe UF was a little overrated, and the second half was just a top 5 team flexing is muscles. Either way I expect was to do alot of damage come March.

I agree that UF may be a little overrated, but not much. #10 is probably a bit high, but I don't see them much lower than that--#15 or so seems like it'll be about right by the end of the season. They've got strong guard play and a pretty solid player on the inside in Macklin. I just don't think they match up well with OSU, who can counter Macklin on the inside with Sullinger and Lauderdale, and who was able to break the UF press regularly. UF's press will make it a long night for a lot of teams.

If the Gators didn't commit a bunch of silly turnovers in the second half, the game might have been closer. Still, a dominant performance either way. This was my first chance at seeing this team play and came away very impressed. They look like they're in mid-season form already. Craft can BALL.

After watching the game and seeing the Bucks do what I said at the half, and then reading all the great articles of this morning I can truthfully say that my face is happy and it's great to be a Buckeye!:oh:

If Gottlieb weren't such a self-important idiot, this would mean a lot more to me. With that being said, it's nice to get some love from the national media. We seem to be flavor of the week.
