The KenPom ratings haven't been kind to the Jackrabbits. Our RPI is 37. https://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/teams/rpi/SDAKST/south-dakota-state-jackrabbits
I think the Buckeyes are heavily favored but the game should be a good one and it shouldn't be called an upset if the Jacks come out on top. Of course, once conference play starts, we just don't face the same challenges OSU faces in every game. That causes me concern in games like the one coming up.

I feel the Buckeyes are going to clamp down on their main guy and make the other guys beat us. If they ball out and crush from 3 we could be in trouble. If not, we'll win by double digits. Welcome to March Madness.

not sure any label other than "upset" applies to a 12 beating a 5 when the 5 is favored by about 8. even though osu has slid a bit, it's still a team that is 9-7 for q1 and q2 games, whereas sdsu is 2-5. moreover, osu is still a team that has beaten a 2-seed on the road, a 3-seed by 9, and another 3-seed by 16 (after leading by almost 30).

my guess it comes down to our 3-point defense versus their 2-point defense. neither is exceptional.

Unless a ton of Ohio State alumni make the trip to potatoville, we'll definitely face a hostile crowd. We'll be playing a mid-major in a mid-major town and one, in particular, that has a hard on for Ohio State because of Gordon Gee's stupid comments as well as that time we knocked them out of a spot in a BCS bowl.

My cousins who were all born in Cbus and are die hard Buckeye fans all grew up in Sioux Falls. Our visits to SD were all fantastic experiences. From Sioux falls to the Black Hills to Mt Rushmore Ill always have a soft spot for the state of South Dakota....having said that i hope we win by 50! ;]
