#4 Ohio State 63, Michigan State 54 (Final)

We win if we don't turn it over 25 times...

I also think that we are primed and ready for this game. Purdue was the trap game and we handled it pretty well.

It will be interesting to see how the team handles a loud crowd, but they have been to UNC, UF, and Wisky so they should be ready for the crowd...

Also the upperclassmen need to play at a level they did against Purdue...

I also think we win if our guards play like they did last night especially Conley and Butler.

Also, there is no way that Neitzel goes off like he did last Saturday unless he goes unconscious again. I think anyone who has played basketball has had days when they can't miss anything that they put up and that is the way Neitzel was last Saturday.

It would also be nice if the refs gave Oden a little love or even some respect. He gets pushed around so much it is almost unfair. I thought it was a foul if you put your hand in the players back and that sure happened a lot last night. TM needs to get on the officials a little more.

Positive thoughts:
-Well for starters we have the better team by a wide margin
-Nietzel shot his wad in the first game, no way he can go off like that again(can he?)
-Trips to UNC, UF and Wisky should all pay off now and negate the HC advantage for MSU

Negative thoughts:
-B10 road game in a very hostile environment
-We gave MSU hope and confidence they shouldn't have
-Still very far from sold on the mental toughness of our team

Random thoughts:
-If we win, the Wisky game in Cbus should be for the B10 regular season outright crown.
-Oden's cast was much less restrictive and smaller vs Purdue. Obviously he was distracted and didn't play well but another thing to look foreward to regarding Oden when he's in better shape mentally.
-Hunter just keeps getting better and better. I really like that kid.
-Hopefully they took a step last night by actually putting a team away when they had the chance. I know Purdue sucks this year but I still take the second half as a positive.

How about we realize MSU isn't UF,UNC or Wisky, play with a chip on our collective shoulder and just go shithammer a clearly inferior team?

Tom Coverdale?

I was thinking of him the other day watching Neitzel play. He and Dane Fife were the co-winners of the "Corky Taylor Prick of the Year" award in back-to-back seasons.

This season's leading candidate? You guessed it... Drew Neitzel.

though purdue is extremely erratic (for example, 14-point victory and 16-point loss versus m*ch*gan), they don't suck.
Their play also reflects home court advantage this year (including the above series)... some lousy play on the road, no losses at home before us.

Good points. Even more reason to take the second half as, hopefully, a step in the right direction as far as adjusting the mental side of this years team.

I want to see these guys get to the point where they are pissed off the other team even thinks they can hang with us and as a result play with a passion to show the opponent just how wrong they are. All the thug stuff aside, its one of the things there was to admire about the old Miami teams. They actually LOVED going into a hostile environment and just crushing the other team and devastating their fans. IMO this team could use a healthy dose of that bad guy persona to go with all the talent.

I think Butler probably plays some of the most consistent defense out of all of our guards so I would have to say we put him on Nietzel. Just my thoughts.
i agree; although, he was beaten badly off the dribble a few times last night. just a little slow off the first step. nonetheless, as you state, he generally provides consistent perimeter defense.

I think he shot more than his ?wad? in the last game. I, like you, can't see him going off like that again.

B10 road game in a very hostile environment
hopefully, we have learned at Wisconsin, Florida, and UNC. Hopefully.
Code:
gave MSU hope and confidence they shouldn't have
that is why I did not like playing them so soon after the game here. It is something that they should not have--hope.

If we win, the Wisky game in Cbus should be for the B10 regular season outright crown.
haven't looked at the schedule but won't they have to play Wisky one or two more times. I think they could be a difficult team for the Badgers. Well, at least hopefully.

Code:
Hunter just keeps getting better and better. I really like that kid.
he has been a very pleasant surprise and now with his outside game developing a little he should be more of an asset.

Already lost to Wisconsin in Madison early in the Big 10 season 72-69.
