I finished up at 9 last night. Would of had my 2nd shutout in a row if it weren't for a pick deep in my own side. The last 2 games i've outscored the bad guys 100-7.
I've had about 3-4 shutouts ruined with pick sixes. I either shut out their offense or can't get them off the field. There's rarely a middle ground.

I brought the pain to #6 ranked Georgia Tech. Fortunately for me, the game started and the weather was no rain. Really though, I almost might have been able to win without an offensive score. All of the BS play went my way (which is first for a big away game).

Heeding some of the advice, I played mostly as one of my safeties, and primarily my FS (Sideshow Mel). I had never intercepted an option pitch before that game, but I managed to do it twice with Mel and return both of them for TDs. My D strung out another option and the RB was already engaged when the QB pitched him the ball, so one of my CBs picked up the loose ball and ran it back as well. Then I had another first. They went for a long FG and it landed in the back of the endzone. My return man caught, I made a few moves and took it back 109 yards for the score.

It was quite difficult to get decent offensive stats. My offensive players had fairly pedestrian numbers due to all of the return scores.

Have we advanced yet? I haven't checked out the OD since I played my game early Sat morning.

Congrats. Option football is a little easier to stop than passing since it's so horizontal, but that's a big win nonetheless.

We advanced last night. Fothdog got his game in then.

Yeah, especially with the pre-snap attack they let us use. I really hope that don't have it in the next game. I appreciate the concept, but it really kind of cheapens the victory a bit, especially since the motion often indicates where the play is running.

Yeah, I think I have a bye week and didn't want to enter it with 2 losses. I'm hoping that the big win will provide me with some recruit signings. I dislike having soft-commit recruits for more than a couple of weeks. I want to close the deal with those guys and not risk losing them.

Last year when i ran the triple option the pre snap motion was a good way of tricking human players. It is very hard not to bite on it.
Yeah, but when the CPU is running that offense, their plays go that way about 95% of the time. So I mostly crashed my D that direction on obvious running downs and that put them in third and long situations that they would have a hard time with.

Also, I'm seeing my big win start to pay off for me. I got 2 more commits this week. The first is the RB I targeted the most and a MLB. I'm still hurting with my top OL recruits so I'm starting to shake up my rankings and efforts.

I just got the #1 MLB. I'm not too excited though, he's real slow. I'll trade him to you for a player to be named...

Maybe you can move him to DE. I've been a lot more selective this season with my recruits after getting some players with attribute issues.

I gotta admit to you guys that I didn't realize we could scroll down through the ratings of recruits until the very end of our last season. I ended up getting a couple of RBs that have terrible ACC ratings, and it was really pissing me off. So now that I know about that, I'm hoping to pull a Tressel and get a couple of lower rated gems. My top target at RB is rated #29, and I think he might be a good one. I've got a couple of other sleepers I'm trying to work as well.

Just got shut out on my two QB prospects. Looks like it will be Godfrey's team to run (waited 4 years) next year. Great arm, mediocre athleticism.

Bell, B- SPD B THP B THA. A+ visit 4 wks ago. Verballed to Oklahoma.
Chase, 90ish SPD B- THP C THA. #8 HB I offered to keep pipeline flowing. A+ visit 4 wks ago. Verballed to UCLA without visiting

I have good young dual threat prospects, but they are projects. I'm not sure if I can win with them against users, particularly SCLSU.

Do you want to share who they are also.:biggrin::biggrin:
I already locked him up, so I was willing to share his info. As for the the others... the answer is no.:biggrin::biggrin: At least until after I lock them up.

A couple of my sleepers I feel I'm actually taking quite a chance on, and I'm less confident as to how they might turn out.

Heck, I'm just happy that I've already got 4 commits after only gaining 2 during all of the previous regular season.

You do remember to offer, right?
 Of course I do. I just wasn't getting any bites during the last regular season, presumably because I couldn't pull off any big wins.

I was looking through my schedule 2 nights ago, and I was thinking I only had one more game for the year. Then I see that I'm slated to play Alabama, who presently has 3 or 4 losses. I look at their team ratings and they are "A+" in all 3 categories. It looks like it's gonna be FSU par deux :pissed:. Being that it's another game that I'll likely drop to a superior team and it will look bad on paper since I'll have the better record/rating going in.
