No offense, but "a student coming up with something creative" isn't anything we need for football. OSU has 100+ years of tradition to rely upon. OU could use "something creative". Cincy? "Something creative".
Now, for basketball, we don't need "something creative". We just need fans who know the game and can make noise. IMO, the best basketball environment in the country is right down I-75 in Lexington. What do they do? Any weird, goofy, Dook stuff? No. They show up in force, sell out every game, are covered in blue and white, and know when to make noise. They are part of the game. They pick their team up, sense momentum changes, force timeouts, influence refs, all while behaving in a classy way. As an opposing fan going to a game there, they'll ask if y'all are havin' a good time, then show you what a big time basketball crowd is all about.
It's also not students. It's alumni, families, kids, teenagers -- fans of every age and stripe. They ALL know what they're doing. It's impressive.
I don't want the Schott to be Cameron. I want it to be Rupp. When the opposing point guard travels, yell it out. When the team needs to make a run, get on your feet. When Oden dunks, lift the roof off of the place. Get in the game, show respect to opponents and leave the newspaper gimmicks to high school kids.
