#25 Ohio State 85, Belmont 75 (Final)

Besides for the sloopy play I think we saw what we have been seeing so far this season. They closed this game out nice tho which was nice to see.

This team can sure shoot it, and they play good defesne. Belmont has some shooters of their own which kept them in the game.

Once we get Dials going we are going to be tough to beat.

Hopefully we have some legs left for ISU.

Ohio State 85, Belmont 75

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- J.J. Sullinger scored 14 points in the second half on the way to a double-double Wednesday night to help Ohio State survive a scare from Belmont, 85-75.

The Buckeyes (7-0) led by 14 in the first half and carried a 12-point lead into the half before the Bruins (3-4) took a 48-47 lead on Andy Wicke's layup with 13:26 left.

Ohio State called a 30-second timeout, then reclaimed the lead on a layup and a 3-pointer by Sullinger, who finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

The Buckeyes also got 18 points from Je'Kel Foster, who was 3-6 from beyond the arc. Jamar Butler had 12 points and seven assists and Ron Lewis added 11 points.

Ohio State opened on a 13-2 run, keyed by 3-pointers from Sullinger, Foster and Matt Sylvester.

Wicke had 14 of his 21 points in the second to help Belmont close the gap. Josh Goodwin added 14 points while Boomer Herndon had 10 points, six rebounds and a pair of blocks for the Bruins.

he just answered that he doesn't like him as an official. give it a rest.

I think lewis was big in this game. Sullinger was the clear mvp, but lewis gave us life out of the halfcourt set late in the game.

Too tired...

For playing after a game on Monday I think we did alright...Dials was certainly tired...he'll be well rested for Iowa State...Sulli was definitely a spark for the team...we'll be alright after 2 days of rest....

Jimotis, if you're looking for someone to question Ed Hightower's officiating ability or his impartiality, look no further. I personally think he's terrible, have thought so for years. I didn't get to watch much of the game last night but I will. If Hightower called his usual uneven, inconsistant game, it will show up.

Yeah, like that Illinois game last year. What a moron.
you're right, sylvester did take some boneheaded shots last year against illinois. Can you give it a rest? The guy throws up anything, sometimes they fall, sometimes they don't. Does he have to throw up 5 straight airballs before you will admit this?
