2026 tOSU Offense Discussion

Watching Carr and Hoover it’s a low bar for Luke.
Let’s wait and see how our true freshman looks albeit against a much more forgiving defense than IU’s.

I think Carr looks good for a true Freshman. Makes the usual inexperienced mistakes but you can see he’s capable. IU just chewed up and spit out Sayin twice. They are for real.

If you expect JS numbers it’s a first start and Day is going 3 TEs and run a lot. Thats what the Fed Ex guy told me. Lol
I thought you were responding to what Jax put about the QBs vs IU.

If I were a betting man, spoiler alert...

Get your gold-panning pack ready. I would guess in the area of 17-24, 275 and 2 TDs. Along with 12-15 yards rushing. He's averaging 15+ yards per completion and only 4 incomplete passes thus far with 2nd teamers minus 2 vs IU.

Expecting Fahey to be better than Sayin is foolish. Fahey will be what he is. Hopefully just win I don’t care how it looks. But if Sayin is out through the playoffs develop Fahey or St Clair for next year.

He doesn’t have to be better, though. If he is able to hit Smith in stride on deep passes, that alone opens up the offense. And I do think he has a stronger arm. Add in some option, draws, and rollouts and the defense has to adjust and the rest of the players can take over.

Is it an optimistic view? Yes, but it’s also not a crazy expectation. If they try to make him Julian and be a drop back passer, it won’t work. Doesn’t sound like that’s what they have in mind, though.

I think it was @jwinslow that said it but I agree with whoever it was; the way either of these two can be "better" than Sayin isn't going to be in completion %, it can be in pocket presence/awareness.

Replacing the rattled version of Sayin really isn't that tall of a task and that is the real inflection point imo.

The offense was capped at Rattled Sayin.

Putting a rough number on it: a ~60% completion 50/50 TD/INT guy with zero run threat against the better quality defenses we would face in a playoff.
