2026 tOSU Offense Discussion

I think this is what's being lost in a lot of these discussions. Fahey looked like a disaster against IU.....that's not really up for debate. But he's also going to get 2 weeks of practice with the 1s, the attention of the entire offensive coaching staff to come up with a plan for the new reality, and god dammit we have Jeremiah Smith.
I'm adjusting my hopes/expectations to:
1. get him ready for TTUN
2. make him good enough to get JJ the Heisman

Everything after that is a bonus
That’s exactly where I’m at.

Yes he was but held on and pushed his guy deep and is to the vision side. Sayin climbs the pocket up and to the right and has all day as he blows by. It was a bad play by the RT and an oblivious play by Sayin.
He had 8 coming in on the left as well, so he would’ve had to have climbed right away to avoid both guys. Had TE help if he does.

If they manage Luke against USC the same way (conservative) they managed Julian against Texas do we come out with a win?
For sure. The defense will hold them to under 20 and USCs defense is a joke compared to Texas.

I think the fan base is underestimating the athletic ability of both backup QBs. Fahey can run really well. The running game will look completely different with either him or TSC at the helm. You pull a couple for easy first downs it takes at least one defender out of the next run attempt.

Only reason I keep bringing up TSC is because I think he will be used in some packages. Fahey starts for sure.

I don’t know Daniel’s was beat from the snap and that was just one of multiple times.
If you trust Zach Smith, it sounds like he was intentionally stepping forward to fake the run, while expecting the TE to come help out until he got back. So....he probably should be quicker in order to get back, but for this play specifically......if Zach Smith isn't full of shit......it's kind of like blaming a corner when the safety was supposed to be over the top and just wasn't.

now that it's clear Sayin is out for season, you're going to have make system level adjustments rest of year anyway

it's a very different question to ask

"which guy can fill in, keep the system in tact, and keep us whole a few weeks until Sayin is back"

vs

"who gives us the best chance to win the B1G and make a deep natty run"

Q1 is clearly Fahey. But Q2 might be TSC. Argument would be sure we may drop a game we shouldn't, but come deep November we may have something special on our hands
