2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments - NCAA: no wins taken away, no postseason ban

If you are going to penalize someone for not following the rules the minimum the penalty should do is discourage breaking those rules in the future.

This punishment fails miserably.

It's a giant laugh at best.

The most pointed way I can phrase it is this - the integrity (on field integrity) of the game was boiled down to being worth $20mil.

Un. Fucking. Real.

Good lord. Now that that is done with, can we get back to beating these fools?
Not if they go back to cheating, and at this point, why wouldn't they? This is the industrial equivalent of a billion dollar factory repeatedly paying the EPA fine for polluting the water supply because it's infinitely cheaper than actually fixing the chemical leak.

It sounds like forfeiting/vacating wins and stripping away championships wasn't even discussed by the COI, but very appropriate penalties like that wouldn't have any affect on the current "student-athletes"! We need to get back the wins from 2010 and just claim a National Championship for 2012!

2012 still pisses me off more than anything. We get robbed of a title and at the same time it allowed Bama to back in and steal another title.

So with all the bowl bans, probations, scholarship restrictions, and death penalty enactments in the past...the NCAA has now established that cheating to get better players is apparently infinitely worse than using subpar players to cheat during the game and win. Let that logic sink in.

my coping mechanisms:

1. This is proof they cheated. You don't get a decade long show cause for not cheating. They definitively cheated, and anybody with a brain knows that 2023 title is a sham. Their fans will crow about it as if they didn't do anything wrong, but just like the guy who goes home to his wife and a kid of a completely different nationality.....everybody knows cheating was involved.

2.

I haven't read the full report but this is pretty wild unless the report concluded the scouting didn't provide any significant advantages. If it did then how are those wins even legitimate?

Let's be real even if the stripped the title scUM and the DFBIA wouldn't care they'd keep celebrating it regardless. It's not the punishment result we wanted or the result that shoulda happened at all but at least the findings let everyone else know that those 3 years are indeed tainted.
