No, he was also being called Cooper 2.0 because of The Game AND the Bowl loss in 2023. It looked like there had been zero preparations done. I get that the bowl didn't count for shit that year, but that was a very poorly coached game.

Whittingham is gonna have 1 foot out the door the whole time if they do hire him. He's better than Brohm or Monken but he's still not a guy who moves the needle enough to make them a serious annual title threat.

He’s 66 too… maybe he can coach for 3-5 years but then they’ll restart all over again.

Would be the best fit for TCUN I agree with that much. But maybe they only want him to stop gap for a younger coach?

They need a stopgap. That's the thing no one up there wants to admit. Their football coaches have been a shitshow the last 5 years. They need an outsider who will come in and run a clean program with no issues. For 3-5 years hopefully while keeping them near 9-3 most of the time then they can go all in again.

That's what Moore was supposed to be. But they fucked that up and showed the culture inside was rotten not just harbaugh.

And Whittingham is perfect for that role
