Who gives a shit if Moore is a serial philanderer - especially in this day and age (gestures wildly at the entire world) what’s it matter to anyone but his family?
He is not a serial philanderer. He is a serial adulterer. Massive difference. He was fired for having a sexual relationship with a subordinate. There is not a company, big or small, that does not have a zero tolerance policy concerning a relationship with that type of power dynamic. Furthermore, some states (including mine) require mandatory sexual harassment training by employers, and this situation is specifically addressed in more thorough detail than most “traditional” sexual harassment.

I don’t see the ‘massive difference’ between being a philanderer and an adulterer as being relevant to his firing. His being married made him an adulterer in addition to a philanderer, but it didn’t relate to his being fired. Having sex with a subordinate, whether married or not, is what got him fired.

Even though the reality is that the ‘zero tolerance‘ came into play when it was in sync with their desired outcome.

You’re correct on all accounts - and he deserves everything that he has coming to him legally, personally, and professionally.

The point I (poorly) tried to make was I think the focus on him overall is overkill and doesn’t get at the source of the institutional rot. The light and questions should be focused more on his predecessor and Ono, both of whom to me are getting passes.

Agreed on the 'adultery' distinction for sure.
