A good amount of them legit think there is going to be very little if any drop off.

No QB

Shakey offensive line entering the season - This is the one that cracks me up, they swear like they did hockey style line changes on the OL last year and these backups who will be getting their first real meaningful playing time are "well experienced"

No receiving weapons outside of a TE

Defense is very thin and wont be as good as it was the last 3 years. Very thin in the secondary and at LB. DL should be good enough still but isnt near as deep as its been.

Not to mention a new head coach whos thrown together a meh coaching staff to support him

Only DFBIA can look at all of that and say "oh yea we are good"

the line wasn't that great last year. decidedly different play vs OSU even.

there just weren't any complete teams in the cfp.

Yep, there's no way for supposed "big time" programs to spin a "moral victory" anymore when you miss the playoff with the expanded playoff now.

If anyone could attempt it though, it would be DFBIA. They'd find some way to claim a 8-4/7-5 season next year as some sort of positive.
