I just remembered something... I had a friend who went to *ichigan. She was cool, otherwise. Big fan of them and their sports teams, though. We kinda lost touch about 8-10 years ago - no reason, as far as I know. But during the whole tattoo-gate thing she was so happy that Ohio State was getting punished for cheating. I said, yeah, you gotta punish Ohio State for this, but, technically, every team is getting some impermissible benefits at some level. I know players at Ball State, for example, are receiving free lunches from fans. "Not my team," she'd say. "Our team does everything by the book."
I don't want to be a dick to her about this. I don't think we've talked since 2021. But I also kinda want to. The fact that the most high-and-mighty fanbase is for the dirtiest program is delicious.

IDK if 3 million is even enough to get the top guys to go play in that peewee football offense they are rolling out. Your NFL aspirations aren't gonna look very good after a couple of years of that. You can still get a good chunk of NIL money to go play for other schools who won't kill your NFL chances.

They'd probably be able to lure some mid 4* guys though. But what good is that when you still are struggling to bring in every other position on offense.

He'll get one (maybe two) in the beginning by pitching the angle that you'll be the right guy to make it click and holding up Spin Pass as an example. When that doesn't work (gosh...no cheating) and a top guy goes there and stagnates before transferring out, I think the wheels will come off the Portnoy Bus.

Plus the sanctions, what QB with options is going to take his money and go to a program banned from the playoff. Throw in Spin Pass flopping when they finally let him play. Not worried about this money.

Portnoy seems like the type of jackass who would want his money back if the guy he gives it to struggles too.

You can't just go buy players, you need to find players who buy into your system, are appropriate for your system, and fit. It isn't as easy as paying people.

Look at DJU and Rashada. Mercenaries that don't fit any program they are with, and actually can hurt the program.

There is also the kid from UNLV who basically screwed that team for more money.

These declarations are shallow and in his case is just a troll job that the DFBIA are more than eager to eat up.
