*2024 tCun Shenanigans, Arguments, Cobras, Feckless Marmots, Fake Pandas, Dirty Cheaters

Which we have…

We should consider Hamilton/McDonald/Williams/JT/Sawyer on the field all game. Seriously they shouldn’t be subbed in for if things go correctly.

Reason I say this is if TCUN continues with this approach of running the ball every play there’s no excuses we can’t force a ton of 3 and outs.

Then at LB you can go Simon/Reese with the standard secondary. I have to be honest I don’t think Styles can play man vs Loveland.

I’d imagine we’ll actually be a 4-3 but we cannot be late to adjust if we are being hurt. We can’t wait until they have 150 yards rushing by halftime and 2-3 big hit scores like USC did. I know many here won’t admit it but watching USC lose the way they did sort of looked similar in a way didn’t it to last year for them? This team can beat us and I don’t think they are the gimme that many here (or in our fan base) think. They have the defensive line to throw our offense off and they have beat us before by lining up and bludgeoning us to death. It can absolutely happen and frankly that’s why I was more pissed after that USC game than I normally ever am when casually watching.

That loss would’ve really unraveled that program but now they have some momentum with this stupid style of play. Such a missed opportunity to have the wheels fall completely off.

I still don't think scUMs D is that great. It's good in Don Brown level terms, but it's nowhere near elite. USC Oline played as bad as i've seen any so called "upper level" teams OL play in a long long time. 72 was basically a standing dummy the whole first half and scUMs DEs just ran right around him without any resistance.

There is a big difference in this year's version of "lining up and pounding the ball" (outside of the obvious cheating thing)

You had to at least somewhat respect a passing threat from them in the past, you literally have zero worries about them throwing the ball now. Also their OL is quite a bit downgraded from previous years as well. They aren't throwing for 32 yards and winning against us, or anyone else for that matter except maybe Northwestern. This USC game was a extreme anomaly, like I said it's Moore's version of Rich Rod beating a "top 10" Wisconsin team in his wreck of a 1st year.

Disagree. This is the 3rd carbon copy of the same team, and with each iteration they've lost more talent and flexibility in what they can do. They're operating on razor-thin margins and their defense is the same shit we saw with Brown. Heavy blitz, good enough to smother bad teams and slow-developing plays, but prone to coverage busts and bad matchups if you don't get there. Johnson is pushing to make the splash plays and has already gotten toasted by Fresno St.

They're also not nearly as good against the run. USC averaged 7.7 ypc and for some reason only ran it 16 times. Texas had a lot of success running in the first half of their game. I think OSU's offense is better suited to deal with their D than they have been in some time. A more diverse run game with RPOs, quick throws, successful screens, etc.

No offense but this is a very chicken little post...

scUM got EXCEEDINGLY lucky against a team that I'm not convinced is very good (USC). As @1926Buckeyes pointed out, they are operating on a razor thin margin.

Chip Kelly is going to take them apart bit by bit.

With zero threat in the passing game, Jim Knowles will shut them all the way down.

Exactly. They basically just run and pray the other team fucks up and lets them break a long one along with praying for defensive TDs as well.

It's very simple, just play fundamental football and don't fuck up and give them those things. Do that and we easily win.

I wonder how many times a team has won a game like Michigan did (32 passing yards) against a supposed top 15 team in the last like 20-30 years. The only other similar game I can think us is us beating Illinois with 17 passing yards in 2011 (Illinois was #16 at the time but of course was a fraud and finished 7-6) This isn't something that is sustainable and is going to become a normal for them. A true top 15 team ends up beating Michigan in that game by at least 2 scores.

How in the hell could the voters watch that shitshow and move them up 5/6 spots?
Because *ichigan.
Also, I think you're mistaken in thinking that the voters watched that shitshow. They watched ESPN's highlights and they saw a good game against a #11 team, where *ichigan powered their way for a win.
The polls are stupid, anyway. Explain to me the last time that Ohio State beat a Kentucky-level team by only 1 and only fell 1 spot.

I was shocked they actually dropped Mizzou more than 1 spot for needing OT to beat Vandy,

That was in the Wind Tunnel known as Memorial Stadium in Champaign. Braxton’s only completion in 4 attempts was a 17-yard TD to Stoneburner. The game plan was more determined by the weather than anything else. It was the worst throwing conditions I had witnessed at a stadium until the game at NW’ern with CJ in 2022.

You don't adjust wh
Pretty sure USC tried it. Hopefully our DL and LB's are better than USC's. Some of the DE's look small so maybe they lined up their regular personnel in Bear. I wasn't able to spite watch the game so I took a look at the highlights to figure out how a top 10 team can get beat by a team that only threw the ball for 32 yards. This play ended up getting stuffed, but the next one in the highlights went for a TD against a 4-3. We'll need to be prepared to go big and really big.

this looks like the play that shouldn't have been ruled a first down........only to be followed by a blatant hold that allowed the TD run.

(I was able to spite watch, unfortunately)

Just have to play disciplined and not let them break those big runs. Tackle well and the safeties need to be in good position at all times and not take stupid gambles just in case they get past the Line and LBers. Without the long runs their offense is literally nothing.
they literally had 4 plays for the ENTIRE GAME. 2 long TD runs, pick 6, and that long run in the 4th. Everything else was stopped.
