*2024 tCun Shenanigans, Arguments, Cobras, Feckless Marmots, Fake Pandas, Dirty Cheaters

Most of the DFBIA doesn't care if others strip the title. They "know" they won it. No one can take their memory of it. They would rather it be vacated than that the program be crippled going forward.

The DPIA obviously have the opposite perspective.

The program is crippled for at least the next 3-4 years anyways, even before any possible NCAA sanctions come down. Harbooger screwed them over jumping ship to the NFL the first real shot he got and leaving the well dry with a lame duck head coach and a even lamer duck staff behind for them. Hilarious that they treat him like some sort of heroic martyr instead of being pissed at him for tanking their program. The guy who "never lies" completely lied to them the last couple of years constantly claiming he'd "never pursue the NFL again"    but they are so brainwashed by all the sunshine pumping (North Korea of college football, once again) they still have nothing but praises for their lost dear leader.

It'll will definitely be interesting to see the psyche of the team against Arkansas State after getting brought back to earth and getting their teeth kicked in by Texas last week. This is probably a very fragile group and that 1 loss could easily send them into a complete tail spin. Arkansas State is a mid level at best Sun Belt team though, i'm not gonna say they are gonna lose, cause they probably won't, but I could see scUM continuing to sputter and only winning a close like 28-20 type game. Hopefully USC manages not to piss down their legs next week (still not completely confident in it) and hands them another embarrassing home loss which really starts the ugly downfall.

I believe that penalties these days will have less of a lasting impact than when the Pedsters got hit.

A team with a large stadium and fan base can rebuild a team with NIL and the transfer portal, ignoring the outlier of what’s happening in Boulder, Colorado right now. I expect the sanctions to make it difficult to get a top level head coach before the bowl/postseason ban expires, but I think once the postseason ban is over, taking 40 transfers two years in a row could allow them to get back to something like 9-3, or at least 8-4, in their second year after the bowl ban expires. Which would be 2028 or 2029, depending on if it’s a 2-year or 3-year bowl ban for the 2025 thru 2027 seasons.

So I expect them to struggle for about 5 years, but then quickly get back to their historical norms. Now those norms need to be similar to the 2001-thru-2019 period relating to their results in The Game.

Cause Fuck ‘em.

Yeah, I really don't care much about what these self-reverential victimhood goblins think. They're beyond reasoning or help. I just want the entire rest of the nation to have the extent of their fraud driven home to them.

I think the stink around a program cheating to this level will keep lingering for awhile even after any sanctions are up. They aren't getting a established big name coach anytime in the next 10 or so years. They might strike luck with a hiring of a lower level guy who happens to succeed, but even then that "success" would likely be at the pre 2020 Harbaugh level with the ceiling being like 10-3, while not being really a real title contender and the floor being 4-5 or more losses

When you look back on those three years, one thing that really stands out is how so many of us just could not explain the success they were having. BP has done an extraordinary job of pegging the goings on within their programs for many, many years. We had them PAINTED. For years. Then they started winning at a level previously unseen within their old, stale, underachieving program. Everything suddenly started coming up roses. Most unexplainable of it all was that it wasn't a slow build; they were an absolute TIRE FIRE in 2020. Their program and the Harbrau-era was on the precipice of total collapse. They didn't make any program shifting changes. They didn't suddenly start recruiting better. They didn't hire new coaches with reputations of totally flipping the fortunes of programs they previously led. Nothing of significance changed. They just suddenly looked like a completely different program and none of us could explain it until last October. Suddenly it all made sense.

Fuck these lowlife scUM rat bastards. They robbed us not only of 3 years of delicious schadenfreude; they robbed us of trophies, awards, and wins. ROBBED is the key word, not a speck of it was earned. I want my pound of flesh.

Excellent post - GPA

I used to post a comparison of Ohio State's and scUM's rosters based on recruiting rankings and the Buckeyes would always have by far the better talent. For example, heading into the 2021 season, Ohio State had 21 of the top 25 players (84%); and 38 of the top 50 players (76%). In other words, Ohio State had an overwhelming talent advantage, at least on paper.

In 2020, scUM had a "meh" roster, finished with a record of 2-4, ducked Ohio State, and after the season lost some of their top talent to the transfer portal. In 2021, they begin to have an amazing turn around, winning their first seven games with a true freshman quarterback. At this point, my bullshit meter starts to go off.

Then scUM blows a 30-14 lead and loses to Michigan State, allowing Sparty tailback Kenneth Walker III to rush for 197 yards and 5 touchdowns in the process. Everything is suddenly right in the universe again.

scUM wins their next three games before the showdown with #2 Ohio State. scUM wins The Game 42-27, and "Jim Harbaugh got the win he wanted perhaps as desperately as any coach in sports." (ESPN postgame summary). Okay, we've won eight in a row, the Game was in Ann Arbor, it was cold and snowing, half the Buckeye roster was ill, shit happens, they were due for their once-a-decade win.... But my bullshit meter starts tingling again.

scUM beats the snot out of a mediocre Iowa squad to win the Big Ten title, but then gets absolutely smoked by Georgia in the playoffs. Maybe I'm just imagining things.

Then 2022 happens – scUM dismantles Ohio State in the Horseshoe, with several back-breaking plays at the most opportune moments. At this point I instinctively know that scUM is cheating, although I assumed it was garden variety cheating like PED's. But in retrospect, it sure does seem like scUM knew exactly what plays Ohio State was going to run, both on offense and defense. My instinctive knowledge is confirmed by the fact that scUM lost to an unworthy TCU team in the playoffs, while Ohio State had a narrow loss to juggernaut Georgia (and but for some questionable officiating, timid play calling, and plain dumb luck would have been a win).

In 2023 it was actually revealed that scUM was in fact cheating, and that their cheating was not off-the-field (recruiting violations, extra practice, PED's) but on-the-field (sign stealing). Everything that scUM accomplished* in 2021, 2022, and 2023 is tainted and should be erased from the books. That, unfortunately, is the only remedy, because there is no way to turn back the clock and play those games (and Games) on an even playing field. Ohio State will never be Big Ten champions for 2021-23 .... CJ Stroud will never win the 2022 Heisman Trophy .... and neither Alabama nor Washington will ever be crowned national champion for 2023. scUM didn't just cheat their own way to undeserved success, they cheated others into undeserved failure. And for that, they can rot in Hell.

A good example of how much they don't care about sucking or the current team in general. Instead of actually talking about the team and actual football. The most popular thread on GoBlow heading into week 3 of the season is course them bitching about NIL

You think the team was brought back to earth? Did you not see the presser with their QB? They still act like they are a legitimate champion.

All that kind of stuff is false bravado at this point. Their arrogance will never be brought down to earth though, that's no lie. They'll still be puffing their chests screaming "WELL WE WERE CHAMPS IN 2023!" when they are struggling big time and going 6-6 in 2025 as well.

So, I know there's the one openly jock-sniffing Regent on twitter (the ambulance chaser). Anyone know if others are speaking publicly or is there a chance that some of them might actually be more clear eyed about Ono and the foosball and are waiting for the sanctions to give them cover?
