Only thing that touches it is the SMU board of trustees maintaining their slush fund while they were already on probation for...umm...maintaining a slush fund.I’d argue there should be another term other than LOIC after this. Because this was controlled.
They knew what they were doing. They made a ton of plans, organized everything, got the financing they needed and then it all paid off in the end.
No what this situation was is a lack of moral compass. They knew what they were doing was wrong and they just didn’t care as long as they won which they did.
This should be the harshest punishment ever handed down (it won’t be but it should). Not because they lacked control but because they purposely set course on an extensive course that was filled with wrongdoing.
And yeah, let's not forget that they likely cost CJ the Heisman.
