I'm actually surprised at how quiet mgoblow is. I'd guess they're still in shock and by tomorrow will have their denialism and spin firmly in place.
They worked themselves up into a towering pile of denial when all of this oozed out initially. This is just a continuation.

This has the potential to be ped aggy-level circa July 2011 schadenfreude if the NCAA has the pills to actually exact appropriate level of vengeance. Still not holding my breath.

DFBIA loves to act like the sports media is out to ruin them but the sports media to this point has really soft balled scUM to this point on all of this. Very opposite from how they handled Tat Gate
Absolutely. Most (notably Herbstreit) couldn't even begin to address it because they didn't want to touch the idea that the on-field product was tainted and manipulated by tcun. Anything that happens now will only be because the ncaa forced the media to cover it.

Tatgate was just another players getting paid and the coach knowing about it situation. Not saying it was right, and I've always been fine with our punishment, but it was a pretty standard NCAA scandal. This was something on such another level that the talking heads couldn't wrap their heads around it.

Amazing to me.

So instead of “how fucking dumb are we?” They’re upset they got caught.

I remember for tattoo gate I thought it was stupid because it’s their stuff but I don’t ever recall thinking we were going to get off light

Don’t do negative things if you don’t want negative press. This concept of course is way over DFBIAs head

Yep. It was a stupid rule, and it should have resulted in a few suspensions. JT covering up and lying about it took it to another level, but we still received Failure To Monitor because the AD and administration cooperated to the point of turning ourselves in.

This is such black and white Lack Of Institutional Control going all the way up to the HC, the AD and the enabling, jock-sniffing university President. In many ways, I think it is far worse than some of the Miami scandals or SMU. There won't be a TV ban or death penalty, but absolutely everything else (forfeits, scholarship reductions, post-season bans and lengthy show causes) should be brought to bear on these fools.

I’d argue there should be another term other than LOIC after this. Because this was controlled.

They knew what they were doing. They made a ton of plans, organized everything, got the financing they needed and then it all paid off in the end.

No what this situation was is a lack of moral compass. They knew what they were doing was wrong and they just didn’t care as long as they won which they did.

This should be the harshest punishment ever handed down (it won’t be but it should). Not because they lacked control but because they purposely set course on an extensive course that was filled with wrongdoing.
