*2024 tCun Shenanigans, Arguments, Cobras, Feckless Marmots, Fake Pandas, Dirty Cheaters

My hunch is that it will be one extreme or the other. Bad case scenario is that they just can't publicly admit that tcun compromised the integrity of the on-field product for three straight years, and they sweep as much under the rug as they can and give a minimal slap on the wrist. If, on the other hand, they are willing to publicly acknowledge that then I think they have to hit them hard with vacated wins and at least a two year post season ban. Unfortunately, they've already said the title is off limits.
They haven’t said the title is off limits. The title is not governed by the NCAA, however, so that governing body will need to decide after the NCAA penalties are determined. Penalties are probably still 4-6 months away.

The title is going to be off limits just because nobody in the media, the CFP or any of their partners are going to want to admit that they have a completely tainted title on their hands.

You can say the NCAA isn't bound to these entities, but they kind of are.

I would speculate that the CFP will follow the NCAA and B1G lead. If the B1G vacates all three B1G titles, the CFP will vacate the CFP title. If the B1G allows them to keep third title, the CFP won’t do anything.

I don’t know if they’ll have a choice… if that report comes out and the NOA are really damning can they really afford to just ignore it?

It's one thing to put a death knoll on an SMU but scUM is a different animal.. should they get nailed - absolutely
but this is a major cash cow for NCAA so I'm expecting leniency... and hoping like hell I'm wrong
I mean they hit us with a bowl ban. They hit USC with a bowl ban and they even hit Alabama before too.

I also think nothing now compares to SMUs death penalty. This wouldn’t be as steep a price as that.

If youre a Sophomore or Junior and Michigan has a 2 year post-season ban...you're going to transfer. Why waste your last year or two playing for nothing when with the new rules you can just go to another team?

It would crater recruiting amdmthe portal too. There will be about 20 teams each year with a solid shot to make the cfp. Why go to one that has zero chance.

In 2022, they only team they didn't have secret intel on was TCU.
I believe this is not true. They did have TCUs signals, but TCU was informed of the shenanigans and used it against the cheaters to great effect before the cheaters realized they were bamboozled.

I want to hear more about the South Carolina armband game. There has to be a coaching connection but I'm too lazy to try to find it. But one day I hope one of the USC players talks to a reporter.

In the end it does not matter if they "Didn't have secret info on whoever". Without the cheating during the regular season and conference play they don't even make the playoff. Getting to the playoff and winning that title was all directly related to the cheating because none of it happens without it.

Logically there should be no way that they can confirm that the cheating was as bad as it seems without completely knocking their program down as much as they can. But it's the NCAA so logic often goes out the window.

Once the facts of the situation are laid out in the NOA, how do you avoid the "tainted title" syndrome ? Everyone is going to know that this isn't a sign stealing (everyone does it) nothingburger.
