*2024 tCun Shenanigans, Arguments, Cobras, Feckless Marmots, Fake Pandas, Dirty Cheaters

Once the facts of the situation are laid out in the NOA, how do you avoid the "tainted title" syndrome ? Everyone is going to know that this isn't a sign stealing (everyone does it) nothingburger.

I think the strategy will be as someone stated above.

They'll acknowledge that scUM cheated in as vague of terms as they possibly can. But they'll blame themselves for previously not allowing helmet communications and try to distract that way "well now we've changed the game!" It'll be rubbed off as more of scUM just "gaming the system" rather than full on cheating (of course thats what it is though)

So they're going to dumb down the facts and try to convince America that it's all ok. That would be a bold strategy.

That they’ll never be able to correct.

They’ll go down as the most corrupt college football program of all time.

IMO, more than SMU etc that’s for sure

Yep. SMU paid players, which at the time was very much not allowed. But paying recruits in no way gives anywhere near the amount of assurance of better success as what scUM did. scUM completely compromised the integrity of the game, the actual games being played in the field.

Without a doubt.

Other than the refs throwing games in the NBA and I guess the black sox (I’ll have to look into them) I’ve never seen anything like this.

People can pretend like it’s no big deal but knowing even what kind of play it is? Enormous deal.

I'm sure casual fans think its no big deal simply because of how the Media has covered it. Like i've said before the tone completely changed after the first couple of days, you can tell the networks got word from the top that it was basically not to be mentioned and if it was mentioned for it to be laughed off or even to swerve the topic and fluff up Michigan instead. They couldn't even discuss the possibility that the product they were putting on was tainted.

I think everyone was at the mercy of the NCAA. They should be able to move fast but they can’t.

Everyone is at their mercy until they come out with it. Thats why they’ve been ignore it.

Once the NCAA comes down they will.

Nah, a scandal like this can only bring juicy ratings. I think this is a clear case of network heads ordering the on air talent to keep quiet because they didn't want the product they are putting out to be seen as tainted by viewers and (well more so) advertisers alike. The first couple of days they was stirring plenty about it, then suddenly basically nothing from anyone at any of the major networks about it.

The black Sox is a fun little tale about players just wanting to get paid....not a bunch of assholes trying to win at all costs. The black Sox cheated to intentionally LOSE the world series, until they weren't getting paid what they were promised so they started winning...which prompted them to actually get they money and actually lose.

Because there’s been nothing more to report.

Believe me, if the NCAA comes out and throws down LOIC and shit everyone will report.

Right now there’s nothing to report until they do.

But I’m sitting here with my 3D glasses and popcorn because I know in my scarlet and grey soul it’s about to go down.

Ah so yeah… this is literally the worst case of cheating in USA sports history. Got you.

Btw, guess what ladies and gentlemen?

Football starts tomorrow.

You'd think there'd still be discussions though even with there being "nothing new to report"

A team winning a title in midst of a big time cheating scandal seems like that's something that would be talked about and debated by the goons on ESPN or Fox Sports, but it really wasn't.
