Valenti is right. This is lack of institutional control, something they literally invented in the 1910s and were temporarily kicked out of the Big Ten for. I know they think they can go full Auburn and get away with it, but I have my doubts. NCAA has a paper trail showing that there was a violation and that Simple Jim lied to them about it. Now you have the university president circling the wagons around the coach instead of cooperating.

In order to get a search warrant on somebody's home, a judge has to find probable cause that a crime has been committed. It doesn't need to be a sex crime, but some felony crime is being investigated.

What this guy is being investigated for is a felony. A coach has a different standard than a kid. So the excuse of it being a kid who made a mistake doesn't fly. Regardless whether this stays a felony sticks, it will be super hard for them to keep Weiss, while the cloud of this alleged wrong doing is hanging in the air.

But TTUN never seems to surprise me, because everything is no big deal when their people do it.

It's always "just a misunderstanding" and "everyone is just out to get Michigan"

Harbaugh could drop his trousers and take a shit on the field mid game and they'd defend it.

Santa and a few others (likely big donors like Ross) will hop on a call with the NCAA and tell them Mizzou needs slapped around again, and that’s what will happen. I’m sure the NCAA will bluster a bit and act tough before turning and slapping Mizzou for some pointless secondary infraction. The NCAA is all but officially toothless at this point when it comes to enforcement, especially with the big boy schools. The only enforcement to come out of the current issues will be whatever actual legal trouble Weiss ends up catching.

I don't know. I kind of get the vibe that the NCAA knows they are losing power so if the situation is right they will make a example of somebody that they can still maybe flex some nuts. Harbaugh acting like the tardo man-child he is, is just asking for something bad to happen.

The same fucking fan base that has proclaimed how holier than thou they are, how they "do things the right way unlike everyone else" and all the "success with honor" bullshit is now cheering on the stonewalling of a NCAA investigation headed by Harbaugh lying to and now straight up refusing to cooperate with the investigation. Hilarious. They just continue to prove to everyone how full of shit they are.

Just remember the thing that they hammered usc the hardest for wasn't what Reggie Bush got. It was the school telling them to go fuck themselves and the AD giving press conferences accusing the world of having "Trojan envy." Let's hope they still have those kinds of balls.

I think you're saying what I've said for years: that *ichigan fans say what they have to to sleep at night. I mean - most of us do the same. And that's all fine and well. But it makes us (Ohio State fans) laugh at those fans.
"You beat us this year? Well we still have the overall winning record against you." Go back 100 years to see that winning record, by the way (excluding the last two stupid years.
"We still have the most wins in college football history." Good job beating Ann Arbor High School and Adrian College and Cub Scout Pack 511 before the second half of the alphabet was invented.
"Our academics are awesome!!!" I'm not overly impressed. I don't even need to hear Desmond Howard talk to be reminded not to be impressed, but he's probably Exhibit A. He, like probably every other football player, was given preferential treatment to get in. All schools who want to win a game do this.
We've all been laughing at *ichigan fans for years. It's nice to see a *ichigan fan agree that it's horseshit.

In fairness to Michigan fans who are not me; a person will say some outrageous sh*t when their football destiny is in the hands of a guy like Brady Hoke. I can't really explain why Michigan fans from the 70's are like this too though. But yeah, you talk about legacy, morals, and grade point averages because talking about the final scores and football records is painful. I find the whole thing absurd; just win baby and if we're not winning, start firing people till we do.

The legacy is mostly Pre WW2 and the "morals" are clearly arbitrary and clearly bullshit.

Problem is the majority of the fan base keeps carrying on like the morals are holy level and the legacy of pre WW2 football actually still means something in 2023. There's no reason to believe the stated majority will stop this anytime soon either. This is why the average Michigan fan is so mocked by others.
