This is 'redwave23' telling everyone he/she never played football, without actually telling us they never played football.

Why people post nonsense like this for attention is something I'll never understand. The problem with that theory is that it doesn't work over a series, let alone a full game. Getting a front, coverage, blitz (if called) and then checks between DB's takes WAY too much time in this scenario. You'd never effectively, if at all, get your defense lined up in time before a snap. Against a no huddle or any sort of tempo or two-play call either and it's suicide.

Totally unrelated, but I'm a big fan of your coverage analysis in the Browns threads. You really know your film and I look forward to all of your long posts about scheme and adjustments. You should ask the guys that run this place to carve you out a corner for that stuff; the Michigan guy who does this is more or less the only reason I still visit MGoBlog at all.

That's very kind of you, I'm humbled by that support. As much as I do love BP, the work you've seen here probably represents about 1% of the total I've done and posted for Browns fans over the last 10-ish years (2012/2013?). A lot of my work was put on a Browns Backers site I found years ago (along side this place) with a notable exception of the time I saw some of my stuff plagiarized/copied on reddit. Sorry there isn't more here for you to dig through.

However all that time I've taken to invest into film study I've recently applied to a more creative, youtube based endeavor. So as cool as it would be to have a 'Browns segment' on BP, I'm putting those resources elsewhere.

Again, I appreciate the nod and kind words. Hopefully you, and anyone else who reads, enjoys it as we all work to share our mutual knowledge and love of the game.

Not a Browns guy but do you have a link to your YouTube site for people to subscribe?

Not a Browns guy but do you have a link to your YouTube site for people to subscribe?

The page, graphics, intro/background music, links and the overwhelming majority of my first video are done (a dive into the state of the Browns IDL) only caveat is that it's not published. Why? I considered posting my first video, focused as-is, just with disclaimers and fair use. However I was told by a source who does similar work, that if I have any type of monetization (patreon links, ad supported and sometimes even fair use) that I had to apply for a 'usage license' from NFL films.

https://pads.nfl.net/FootageLicensing/

.... ^^ That. Or I run the risk of even my first clip being permanently taken down. And that's the step I'm on right now. I've submitted the information, now I'm waiting to get word back on approval and (high likely) a footage use fee.

But when it's ready to go, and I'm content that my work will not only be informative, but most especially stand the test of time (my biggest desire) then I'll post it on BP and other places I contribute.

I'm ambivalent.

Objectively it will be an absolute disaster if Harbaugh leaves. The coach hiring cycle is more or less already over, and after breaking up with Gattis last year, our incestuous coaching tree is pretty much down to "Mike Hart." I can assure you that I have no more confidence in coach Hart being able to beat the Buckeyes than any of you do.

On the other hand? Jim is never going to win a playoff game; literally ever. Furthermore as long as he's our head coach, the risk of losing him is always going to happen AFTER the college hiring cycle, forcing us to go internal, and setting up this exact situation eventually. I guess I'd rather have the crap one year disaster coach when we're still set at QB and HB1. Will it work out? Hell no. But Michigan is going to have to completely exhaust our inbred coaching tree before we go outside, so it might as well happen now; I guess.

tl;dr this sucks, but so does losing to TCU because we couldn't be arsed to watch any film. This is probably terrible news, but I don't see how the program goes forward without this happening eventually.

Ahhh, the old January tradition. Question is, will anybody hire him after TALKING to him. Everybody assumed he was gone the past two years and nobody wanted him. He had another good year, but he's still an abrasive, goofy fuck ball.

I'm no psychic, and I've gotten out of the "predicting mutants like Jim Harbaugh" business; but Irsay is basically the same guy. His personality woulda been a problem in Minny for sure; but in Indy, the guy up top is already a rageaholic control freak. I don't see him going to Denver, but Indy is probably his last, best chance of building an NFL program like his brother's. I wouldn't be shocked if this is real.

Definitely has history there and you’re right Irsay is the one owner who would get Harbaugh.

Plus, Feldman is legit close to Harbaugh, so it's pretty hard to picture a scenario where he puts his name on this without Jim being aware it's going to happen. Throw in that noted program insiders in the media who ABSOLUTELY would shoot this down if it were fugazi, guys like Sam Webb and Scott Bell, are saying this is genuinely in play? Afaict, Jim is already gone - if someone wants to pay his price and the situation is right.

The fans are circling the wagons and neg-bombing anyone who says it might be real, but there's an eerie silence and even half-hearted confirmation from the larger, connected, Michigan community? This is a very ominous sign; well, if you're in the keep Harbs at all costs camp anyway.
