They sure are grasping at straws trying to equate shit like this to a elaborate non legal coordinated sign/play stealing scheme.

Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. I think most of dfbia are still stuck between denial and anger. A couple of slightly self aware ones are flirting with bargaining.D.F.B.I.A.
It's going to be hilarious if shit does really hit the fan and they try to play the "It was just a rogue staffer!" defense.
In no fucking realm could something like this be going on without the coaches knowing about it.
Im still trying to wrap my head around the meaning of Honor Code at the Naval Academy. Apparently these words do not mean what I think they mean;-)
I don't understand. If there's a specific rule forbidding it how is there not a punishment associated with it...?The issue is the NCAA hasn't associated a punishment with the infraction.

Here's Mr Defensive Coordinator for Michigan University, trying to figure out what play to run. Then suddenly, this little dweeb comes running out of nowhere telling him "no no no no no, run this play instead" immediately after the other team signals in the play. And Mr Defensive Coordinator for Michigan University is like "ok, no name staffer. you got it!"The problem with the rouge staffer/I didn't know defense, in this case, is that to be useful at all "intelligence" (of whatever sort and however obtained) has to go through the coaching staff to be of any use.
So if it was obtained then it was used. There is no way to not know you used it or what it was.
Play stupid games, get stupid prizes.Does the NCAA even really associate punishments with anything though? Seems like they just kind of do whatever they want on the fly.
Counter intelligence ... such as intercepting electronic communications?"Marine Corp Philosophies" = counter intelligence, or in the sports world, cheating.

Michigan has built a state-of-the-art analytics organization, probably modelled on leading edge NFL thought, that has now lapped the competitiion in situational predictive capability. What people forget is that you can use this predictive capability to study yourself, in order to find patterns and tells that may tip off others. UM is not just figuring out the opponent, they are making it harder for the opponent to predict us. Except for the dive play...
