Credit where Credit is due - this is an interesting piece from MGoBlog:

In terms of speed and pace of play, here are the four CFB playoff teams from last year and where they finished:
  • Ohio State 2.612 (74th)
  • TCU 2.599 (78th)
  • Georgia 2.383 (114th)
  • Michigan 2.357 (118th)

Obviously, speed and snapping the ball extremely quickly aren't the magic key that unlocks the playoff, They best teams were very average in their speed of play.

Wrecking the other team helps a lot with that. When Michigan could no longer do that, they got worked despite putting up absurd point totals, and scoring at a clip magnitudes faster than normal.

Conversely, fielding a defense worse than a walkthrough still has its consequences. When OSU briefly avoided resembling this, they were beating Georgia soundly. It wasn't just CJ's play, they had that thing won.

When they reverted back to normal, they squandered away a NC. If the officiating understood what replays are for, they probably sneak out of there with a win with 1/3 of a football team.

but in the end you can't be a big 12 defense (ask Lincoln Riley... although at this point it's a blessing that he still maintains one).

Frankly, at this point, I'm not sure that OSU is up to par with a b12 defense.

Oh how I hate these cocksuckers.

I watched a few minutes of the TTUN game at Wiscy a couple of nights ago. In a span of 5 minutes, Dickinson was whining about a call at each end of the floor, AFTER the foul was called on Wiscy. He wanted a flagrant and a hook-and-hold, and there wasn’t either one of those. But this prick got the foul call both times, while on the road, once on a defensive rebound where he just fell to the floor without any help, and he was whining to the refs both times. Fuck this guy.
