CFB coaches sure seem to think it's a big deal, gave them a big advantage, should lead to severe punishments, etc.

Almost half of the coaches surveyed (46 percent) rated it a 5. The average score among the 50 coaches was 4.2. Only two ranked it below a 3.

One of those was Kirby Smart. He does not give a rats ass about that shit team.

Lawyer words.
"No way related" in what sense?
The hacking isn't technically related to sign stealing, but it's pretty obvious everything in this case goes back to his laptop and what was found on it when they started looking at whatever was the triggering event.
My theory is the triggering event was hacking the Woody.
But it could just as well be an anonymous report about alleged underage photos / content on his laptop.

It is not related in that what they were looking at that laptop for is not related to this sign-gate situation. But it all stems from what the ALSO found on that laptop when they were searching for whatever they were searching for.

I feel like that the idea of hacking is a bit much. I suspect it is more of a spy in the midst at tOSU or a crime of opportunity. Hacking across state lines and such seems like an insanely dumb decision. That would seriously put you in jail.

Outside of Michigan and a few key idiots in the media most feel this way.

Yet the NCAA and Big just have no urgency here to move.

I agree now that there’s just too much money at play for them to be motivated to do anything this year. It’s a shame because this really is the biggest corruption ring ever assembled in sports history but guess we get to wait until after the year
I mean everyone outside of the shithole town laughs about this idea.
If it was not an advantage then why spend all this time and money doing it?
Why break a rule to do something that does not give you an advantage?

The whole fan base and program makes my blood boil.

This is how I feel. This is a disgusting situation that can be stopped only by one governing body and it’s inexcusable that they haven’t.

What Pawl really meant to say is, "What I said 2 weeks ago was based on what every other talking head was saying 2 weeks ago. I really didn't look into it or do any due diligence before I ran my mouth. I just spewed what was easy to say and what got me clicks. Now some other talking heads are taking a different perspective so I'll parrot them for awhile. I still haven't really looked into it but I think changing what I say will get me more clicks."

Pretty much all of the talking heads on ESPiN, FOX, etc are assigned their positions on controversial talking points. Its the only way to generate lively conversation/debate. If one of the panel members sat there and said, "yep, he should be suspended." and the other three all nodded their heads in agreement, the next thing you'd hear would be silence.

Putting ANY stock into what they say is more or less worthless.

What about this whole saga especially Connor Stallions has made them seem even remotely mentally competent? I mean the most amazing thing about this at this point is that it wasn't caught sooner lol

Someone logged into the practice footage cloud drive using the credentials of the director of recruiting if I recall correctly - it is 99% likely just a case of him being shoulder surfed while out recruiting.

Hidden in all of this is an opportunity for PSU fans to achieve partial redemption in my eyes.

In two weeks the entire student section shows up with old style placards like they use in Block O.

One side say "Run", the other "Pass". They hold them up on every offensive play.

Not only good for a laugh at UM expense, but calls attention to the issue throughout the entire game. Might just get to the UM players after a while as well.

As camera tech becomes smaller and the resolutions orders of magnitude greater, this was ultimately unavoidable.

I think this will be the death of the “check with me” no huddle/tempo offense with color coded GAs waving sandwich boards and playing charades, and college coaches will be forced to let their QBs trust their eyes and make calls at the line, and barring earpieces for the QB and MLB being allowed at the FBS level, reverting to running in plays with the near-side WR.

I mean, would we lose anything if Day ran the plays into a huddle by rotating Fleming/Tate/and X as the third receivers while Harrison and Egbuka stay on the field?

If this is what it takes to bring coaching football I.Q. back into players and really making the level of QB play more distinguishable, then I'm absolutely all for it. Especially for those kids whose dream is to play in the NFL - this can only help in the long run.
