The Purdue fans make an appearance in the comments, too.

We all are aware of speed limits

We all break them from time to time and to varying degrees

It doesn't really affect the outcome of the drive home nor does anyone really care...UNTIL some asshole is doing 103 in a 35mph school zone.

Then it matters and then they will hammer you for it if they catch you.

I know people like him get paid to say stupid shit but the rationalization phase of their grieving process is getting tiresome.

The crazy thing is that they think everyone else is already driving 103 in that 35mph zone. And they've always driven 35 in that zone. And now they're getting called out for driving 40mph in that zone.

And it's a stupid analogy, anyway, unless we're talking about a race. It's a race to get home from work. If you get stopped by police, you're pretty much going to lose, because you're stopped for a period of time. We all speed a little, and usually get away with it - just like football players often get away with holding or pass interference or something. But now, say I tip the police off to where you're going and how fast you're going, and about the drugs and dead hookers in your trunk. They pull you over and don't find the drugs or dead hookers, but the damage is done - I'm home and you lost the race.

Was this site this dumb in 2012 with tattoogate? Maybe I was this dumb. What else compares? Were Houston Astros fans this dumb?

To carry this analogy a little further, everyone was speeding to varying degrees on the road. Michigan was speeding through a school playground to practice speeding on the road and got caught speeding in the school playground, and are now crying that it’s okay because everyone speeds on the road.

Is someone adding the cost of this scheme? Beyond the budget for a low level staffer.

Don't worry, he has a robust t-shirt business on Etsy.

Deace is broken. He admits that he doesn't care what they did no matter what it is, and then proceeds to make weak, bad-faith arguments to try and cover his tracks. "They did nothing wrong, but if they did, I don't care because everyone does bad things."

If Michigan had a sniper in the press box taking out players, he would defend it. The guy is beyond desperate to believe that Michigan was dominating without a massive cheating operation. When this all comes down on their heads, I'm not sure he'll survive without breaking all of the equipment in his studio.

The more I think of this… the more I won’t understand a light punishment.

This is corruption. This is literally a cartel of people fixing games.

The pony express got the death penalty for buying players. That doesn’t impact games like this does.

So why should Michigan get anything less? They literally corrupted how many games and they’ll get to finish the year potentially? No way, these ass holes need to have their year ended now. Then they need to figure out what to do with them going forward once the season is over.

The main issue is they won’t want to punish someone innocent but if there’s reams of data to support this they need to move now and the add to the penalty later.
