Holy shit. Did this all just start bc Day said he'd hang a hundred on Judge Wapner's biggest fan?
iirc Rain Man was giving Day shit on a B1G coaches conference call. Something about illegal practices I think.

Day told him to shut up and worry about his own team and that started the "hang 100" stuff inside OSU.

I'm not so sure. This cuts to the heart of the integrity of the games (and the Vegas lines). Also, the B1G is now involved and took the unheard of position of warning tsun's future opponents. There's a lot here. My big question is will Porn Name Marine Guy flip or will he go full G. Gordon Liddy and be the fall guy due to some misguided sense of honor.

One thing for certain is that he was not operating on his own, and the coaches were not calling plays and schemes based on the analysis of some first year analyst with no coaching experience unless they knew exactly why that info was valid.

ESPN article: Attempts by ESPN on Thursday to reach Stalions, a retired captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, were not successful. Stalions, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, was hired as an off-field analyst at Michigan in May 2022, according to a bio on his LinkedIn account. He is making $55,000 per year.

The money does not add up here if Stalions a Naval Academy graduate is only making $55K a year at scUM.

1) Stalions just graduated from the US Naval Academy in 2017. He's not actually retired from the Marines with a pension.
2) A man with his credentials (and only making $55K) isn't likely to "pull a G. Gordan Liddy", etc. The good thing about Stalions being involved is that he is a scUM employee, so he pretty much has to talk to the NCAA.
3) The cost of getting (qualified) operatives to all the games (and to the ideal viewing points inside the stadiums) would be significant. I doubt that Stalions is funding it (and "acting alone in a vacuum").
4) If the scUM Athletic Department isn't funding it, somebody sure else is. The NCAA should just try to "follow the money".

This is a nothingburger. The NCAA was neutered.
I don’t think it’s a nothing burger because a staffer is alleged to have orchestrated attending other teams’ games and perhaps filming sidelines to gain information that is not available from the all-22 film. That is explicitly in violation of conference bylaws since 1994, and is going to involve travel and tickets, and therefore U-Ms Athletic Departments accounting.

In an attempt to hide their tracks, I'd bet it was a "clandestine operation" funded solely by someone outside of the scUM Athletic Department, i.e. like a scUM booster, etc.

Maybe they diverted the international team vacation program—they haven’t done that in a few years.

That's actually possible The NCAA should contact both Bobby Kotick and Don Graham, and ask them if they know anything about the "spying sandal". They couldn't be forced to provide a response; however, it would just be interesting to hear what (if anything) that they would say. If they honestly know nothing about it they would probably say so. If they were involved they probably would not respond since they would have to lie and they know that eventually they could get caught in it.

Jim Harbaugh reveals donors for Michigan football's European trips

Jim Harbaugh couldn't keep it secret any longer.

A year ago, when Michigan announced plans to head to Rome, and then made a foreign trip an annual event, the head coach said the entire thing was being funded by an anonymous donor.

On Wednesday in Paris, standing outside the Eiffel Tower, Harbaugh said Michigan graduates Bobby Kotick and Don Graham were the donors responsible for the last two years.

Kotick funded Rome alone. Both he and Graham paid for U-M's trip to Paris this year.

"Bobby did the whole thing last year himself. He and Don Graham split it this year," Harbaugh said. "Two great Michigan guys, especially Bobby. Can you imagine? It's impressive. They're the best.

Harbaugh has said Kotick told the program he'd be willing to fund these trips for as long as Michigan wanted to do them. He said talks for next year's tour are already in the works, with possible destinations of South Africa, Greece, Cuba or Spain being mentioned.

The timing lines up. The trips stopped when we transitioned to a COVID world and haven't returned to date. The Harbrau-era hits rock bottom in 2020. Suddenly in 2021, scUM starts winning at the level everyone expected when they hired Simple Jim. In year SEVEN. Go look up how many coaches suddenly figure things out in year SEVEN, a year after an absolutely dreadful season. Good/great coaches win early and often. They don't mostly flounder for six years then suddenly get going.

Especially veteran coaches. He wasn't Dabo at Clemson getting his first HC job. He came to scUM with HC experience at both the Power 5 and NFL levels

Marine Porn Name guy didn't get hired until spring of '22 according to the article so if he's solely the guy who does this, the timeline isn't actually right for 2021 season.

He’s reportedly been affiliated with the team since 2016. He was officially hired as a staff member in 2022, possibly in recognition of a stellar job coordinating their vast cheating operation the previous year.

Joel Klatt usually has a good take on things. Where many pundits are kind of making light of the allegations, Klatt called the signal stealing methods " serious allegations"

He definitely see's the matter as potentially having a huge negative impact on TTUN.

Klatt is the best CFB has in my opinion. Love his breakdowns on YT. He is the only guy that gets me to watch Cowherd. Colin is even entertaining with Klatt on his show.
