2023 Bowl Games Discussion

Watching the Semi's, I now realize how far ahead all 4 teams are compared to the Buckeyes. OL, play calling, coaching decisions. Buckeye D can hang but the National Title next week is 2 teams in our new conference. Add in Oregon , USC and UCLA.

Can the Buckeyes keep pace in 2024 or are they going to be playing a Sun Belt team in the Pop Tarts bowl next December ? Is Day still in denial over the current state of the football team ? Will the transfer portal be even looked at beyond a couple positions ? Will the new AD look at the team with fresh eyes and ignore the advice of Gene Smith ?

I currently think they are falling behind and need to face up to change on how the football team is assembled. Whether that includes Day makes no difference to me. I root for the Buckeyes and it's getting far tougher to win with the new additions to the conference who may be better that the Buckeyes.

so I think its kinda interesting at least this year.

Cunts have what 50+ 5/6 year players who are done after this year
Udub feels like they have a lot too but just did a quick check on their roster ... only 15 seniors and about 30 Jrs so they weren't as top heavy as I thought they were

I don't think things are as bleak as you are saying. Improvements need to be made. If there are no coaching changes, then there is a big problem.

I think where we are behind is the culture. Day can say what he wants but we are a fragile team because of his offense.

The physical nature of all the teams in the playoffs was evident and we got away from that year after year. We’ve got to get back to running the ball, we need an actual OC, we need to overhaul the strength and conditioning program, and we’ve got to become the best at recruiting the OL and DL.

I just roll my eyes now when we get another WR. Who cares about another 5 star WR? There’s greater chance they transfer anyways.

They never beat down Oregon, allowing over 900 yards in two matchups. They just outscored them. That's their only hope.
Absolutely. This is Big 12 defense and offense vs Michigan. If they can force Michigan in to passing they've got a puncher's chance, but I think we have collectively underestimated Michigan as a team - especially McCarthy.

Maybe, but the team currently trailing beat Bama by 10 in Tuscaloosa. They didn't need OT to do it.
Milroe was making his fifth start. The left tackle was a freshman. I seem to recall that Quinn played out of his mind, over 300 yards and several TDs.

Michigan made a fool out of the frosh left tackle - sound familiar?

The cheaters have more than half of their roster as seniors or better, but more than half of those still have eligability. Most of the 4th and 5th year guys can come back. The question is will the coaches and administration be honest about what’s coming from the ncaa.
