I didn't vote, but I could easily see basketball being the correct answer. Not saying it's gonna happen, but it's not like we're going to have low-ceiling CH teams forever. It took almost 50 years for football to win 2 titles after their last one. NIL I think will benefit OSU hoops and help attract more pro prospects. Football was already getting plenty of pro prospects.Interesting daily poll on Eleven Warriors website:
WHAT HAPPENS FIRST?
Ohio State Football Wins Two More National Titles: 96%
Ohio State Men’s Hoops Wins 2nd National Title: 4%
Just sayin': Buckeye fans just don't have a lot of faith in tOSU men's basketball program to win a 2nd natty. FWIW, I voted for the football team to win 2 nattys before the basketball team wins another, etc. I just don't think that Holtzmann has shown the ability to recruit at the level it takes to actually win a natty.
I don't know that I'd describe Bonner as someone who can shoot the cover off the ball. I don't know what his DII stats were like, but he was 27% from three in 2 years at Baylor. I think he's good enough to keep teams honest, but he's not as good a shooter as Thornton.
Not saying we won't ever see that rotation, but it will be situational.
