2023-2024 Ohio State Men's Basketball (apathy, depression, hope?)

If Indiana wins Ohio State will lock in a 1st round bye and will be either the #9 or #10 seed.

They would face either either Michigan State if they are a #9 seed or they would face either Iowa or Indiana if they are the #10 seed.

This is a completely different team than just 1 months ago. They look like they can play with and/or beat anyone.

I'm sold on Diebler as a coach. Only question is, can he recruit and construct a roster.
I am, too, pending what happens in the next couple weeks. Wouldn't be upset to see Gene ink him to a short term deal of, idk, 3 years or so, if that's possible. He doesn't have to defer to Bjork.

I understand if he's gunshy now after that terrible mistake of extending holtmann. But this is a rare opportunity to hold onto a true Buckeye, and apparently an effective coach. It's crucial to keep coaches who are passionate about the program and hate tcun, and not just concerned about their own careers. (Although I realize Thadd wasn't from OSU, and yet gave us one of the greatest moments in OSU history after Evan Turner's winning 3-pointer vs scUM in the BTT.)

Also, maybe Bjork hasn't learned from his Jimbo Fisher mistake if he's set on bringing in an outsider to be HC.

The bye is locked up so now either #9 or #10 seed

4 different combinations left with 2 games to go

2 chances for it to be #9 Ohio State vs #8 Michigan State (If Maryland wins) (as the Illinois/Iowa game then does not matter)
1 chance for it to be #10 Ohio State vs #7 Iowa (If Penn State wins plus Illinois wins)
1 chance for it to be #10 Ohio State vs #7 Indiana (If Penn State wins plus Iowa wins)

Would we as Ohio State fans rather have had the 11 seed so the path would been Nebraska in the quarters if they made it that far as opposed to now being Illinois or Purdue despite not having to play Michigan in the opening round ?

Beating Nebraska on a neutral sure seems like a far easier game then winning vs Illinois or Purdue.

Hell naw. This team is playing with a ton of confidence, they believe in themselves & can beat anybody in the B1G right now. Playing a 5th game would have been a handicap that would've hurt their chances to go all the way. The chance to get a marquee win vs Illinois is big. I just wanted them to get a 1st round bye and not have to face Purdue until the finals (at worst).
