2023-2024 Ohio State Men's Basketball (apathy, depression, hope?)

I must agree. As a child, I walked the sidelines of St John Arena, taking Kodak pictures of Fred Taylor and the players. Basketball came first for me and I loved watching those early 1960s teams. Since Holtmann's first year, I have felt myself becoming more and more apathetic. It is now to the point that I have watched only highlights of three games and no more. I think he is an excellent person, but he has not delivered on the expectations for an Ohio State basketball program. I might come back when he's gone but, right now, I have no interest at all.

Should be 0

This team is not winning on the road - that's 6 more losses right there remaining.

Even if they win the 6 remaining home games (they wont, 2 of those games are against Purdue and Illinois) that's a 19-12 (9-11) finish. The resume isnt good enough to get in with that record.

Last season it was easy to see the moment things changed. Zed got hurt against Purdue, that lead slipped away and he was never the same player until he finally had surgery. Okpara was a freshman, so was Thornton, and Holden disappeared in Big Ten play.

Nothing like that has happened this season. Zed's back, Okpara and Thornton are sophomores, and Battle is what they wanted Holden to be, yet it has the same feel to it. There's still time to turn it around and not have a repeat of last season, but it has to start now.
