It has happened twice both teams were +4 games above .500 though and after Nova beats DePaul if they lose to Marquette they would be 18-15.I'm not sure why Villanova is still "in" at 17-14. Yes, they have some great wins, but they will have 15 losses if they don't win the conference tournament. I can't think of a single team to make the dance as an at-large with 15 losses on Selection Sunday.
I think 15 losses is my breaking point. I don't think teams should get at-large bids for the big dance with 15 losses. It's ridiculous that Vandy was a 9-seed with 15 losses. Shows clearly the committee is a bit too biased towards power rating metrics and the related perception of how strong your opposition was.It has happened twice both teams were +4 games above .500 though and after Nova beats DePaul if they lose to Marquette they would be 18-15.
In 2017 Vanderbilt was the first ever 15 loss team (19-15) to get at large bid they were a 9 seed.

In 2019 Florida went 19-15 and was a 10 seed
Indiana State ran out of gas.Indiana State has rallied the second half and trying to get that auto bid. Drake might be the Valley team looking for an at-large - hard to believe considering they hit their first 7 threes in the 1H.
IDK, they both honestly look like NIT-level teams to me. They are both mediocre at best defensively. Congrats to Drake, but it ought to be a very uncomfortable week for Indiana State. I'd have the Sycamores in the NIT.Indiana State ran out of gas.
I think they and Drake were both in either way though.
They play more D than Alabama does though lol....I think it's a bit of a soft bubble this year, lots of very similar teams from across the conferences.IDK, they both honestly look like NIT-level teams to me. Yeah...but Ohio State beat Bama too and I don't think Ohio State is getting in without at least 3 wins in the BTT at the moment.Ironic you cite Alabama, who beat Indiana St 102-80 this very season.
I was laughing at that call and the referee was right behind them that called it…Wtf.. Mich st dude tripped over his own feet and it is a foul?
