2023-2024 College Basketball General Discussion

Caitlin Clark is essential for Team USA, Lisa Leslie says: 'We should not leave the country without her'

Caitlin Clark must be on the Olympic team, according to one of basketball's greats.

"She better be on the Olympic team," Leslie said during a recent interview with ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. "We should not leave the country without her. She's a bona fide baller. There's no doubt she's already one of the best players in the world."

Clark’s contract is worth about $338,000 over four years, and she will make just over $76,500 in her first season with the Fever.

Dayumm.. her NIL shoulda been $338K a year.. and every NCAA women's basketball pgm should contribute...
18.7 million viewers... what Clark brought to NCAAW was amazing

Sure hope she graduates.. would assume her promo contracts are worth a gazillion more than this deal

Iowa fills Clark's void, lands Villanova transfer Lucy Olsen

Lucy Olsen, the No. 3 scorer in Division I women's basketball this past season at Villanova behind Iowa's Caitlin Clark and USC's JuJu Watkins, is transferring to Iowa.

Olsen, a 5-foot-9 guard, confirmed her commitment on social media Wednesday. The senior-to-be has one season of eligibility left.

Dawn Staley building a powerhouse. She’s got personality, fun, smart, tough and can coach. Too cool.

She should get any player she wants down to Columbia.

South Carolina makes Dawn Staley highest-paid women's hoops coach

South Carolina announced Friday that Dawn Staley has received a contract extension through the 2029-30 season that will make her the highest-paid coach in women's basketball.

The contract, approved by the university's board of trustees, starts with an annual salary of $4 million, includes a $500,00 signing bonus and has an annual $250,000 escalator, bringing the total value to approximately $25.25 million.

"Dawn Staley is a once-in-a-generation coach who has made a tremendous impact on the University of South Carolina," athletic director Jeremiah Donati said. "She has elevated the sport of women's basketball on the national level and here on campus, and I am excited that she will be representing our University for many years to come."
