The September Heismans and national titles they are going to be claiming this year are going to be particularly hilarious considering their opponents that month to start the season. A complete unraveling would be hilarious but them being undefeated or with 1 loss but still in the playoff picture (completely possible due to the pathetic schedule) and then starting all of the “it’ll be just like last year” nonsense before getting stomped in the shoe would bring much satisfaction.

I think people are underestimating how truly mediocre they're going to be this year. Both coordinators hit the road. Both unicorn edge rushers are gone. Neither of the mick quarterbacks is really all that, and they're probably going to have a nice QB controversy after Reno Jesus loses his first game. Simple Jim has clearly checked out, and defensive coordinators are not going to be caught by surprise by his old-timey offense this year.

Combine that with their inflated sense of superiority, and I bet they'll have three losses by the time of The Game: Iowa pulls some sick kid voodoo on them at Kinnick, then they'll drop either of Sparty or Peddy at home. Their complacency will get the best of them, and they'll lose to someone they shouldn't like the corn or Maryland. That's three losses followed by an ass raping in The Game. They'll limp into the mayonnaise bowl and lose it.

We have the tired referees excuse. There's a chance we'll be able to blame one loss on a thunderstorm delay (Penn State used that excuse, so it really isn't original). What other excuses might they use? Remember after the 2004 game, they blamed the loss on the fact that Ohio State security spent too much time checking their equipment? I guess that when security takes too long doing their job, it really only affects you when you're winning 14-7, already.

Maybe another Sparty Bob issue? I would file that under "referees", though.
I'm not sure what else they'll be able to blame.

Everyone point and laugh at *ichigan fans.

So I guess some nerds were asking B1G coaches "what made *ichigan good last year?" I didn't bother to watch the stupid video, because I don't care what the responses were. But the responses from *ichigan fans to those responses is funny. Mostly, "Boo hoo! Ryan Day didn't fall on the floor to bow down to us! Boo hoo!"

It's a rivalry. I mean, I never root for *ichigan. I don't want their coach (specifically Harbaugh, but also generically whoever their coach is) to compliment Ohio State, other than in a post-game interview where he says, "Yeah, they're the better team and they kicked our asses." When you start complimenting each other and rooting for each other in bowl games, you become the SEC.

It's like the salmon returning to Capistrano. Getting their ass kicked every year...they run their mouths. Blatantly using COVID to avoid a beatdown...they run their mouths. Pull one win out of their asses in a once-a-decade unicorn season...they run their mouths. I have no doubt that if Day really does hang their hundred on them this year, they will continue to run their mouths.

Its turkey vultures that return to Capistrano. The salmon return to Hinkley, iirc.

I got to here:
Let's hope the country club mentality pervades the Ohio St football team. Rest on the laurels of 2002 to 2020. Do it! Let it consume you.
So, 1) you didn't listen to any of the Ohio State contingent at media days talk and 2) you're hoping that Ohio State becomes Michigan.

Ryan Day, who is basically taking a direct shot at Michigan, so I’m surprised they didn’t notice:

“11-2 might be a great season for some schools, it’s not good enough at Ohio State.”

Dumbass Michigan fans, “they’re getting complacent!”

Well... Day's comment may sound like the opposite of complacency if you look at it without context. What you have to remember is that he went on vacation right before the dead period rather than during it. That's the sign of true complacency and the context within which you have to interpret... Wait... that WAS coach Day that did that, wasn't it?
