Another thing that pushes back on the “Day is soft/complacent” narrative is the 2019 and 2020 Clemson games.

The 2019 team lost a game they easily could have won if 11 unfortunate things didn’t snowball against them.

Day and the team remembered that and absolutely beat the hell out of Clemson in the rematch, with even the defense looking good against a #1 overall QB.

Day passed that test with flying colors and showed an absolute edge in getting the team ready for the rematch.

I don’t see why anyone (outside of delusional/stupid Michigan fans) would expect something different going into this season.

And although one could argue it could have been done sooner, he also was fairly cutthroat in revamping the defensive staff to address a clear problem.

He was also the hand picked successor of Meyer, who I think people compare Day to with the “soft” evaluation.

I don’t think Meyer would have chosen Day if he didn’t have the right competitive fire, and I don’t think you need to come off like an insane asshole to prove that you are competitive.

The Clemson revenge game was one data point in favor of Day, here’s hoping he adds a few more this season.

They act like Harbaugh wasn't "soft/complacent" for the first fucking 6 years of his time at scUM, constantly getting beat up by most teams with a pulse.

You can say the jury is still out on Day, fair enough. But pretending like Harbaugh is everyone's daddy (DFBIA) because he managed to pull 1 season out of 7 out of a hat is ridiculous.

The players too, not just the goofy fans. They beat Ohio State once and seem to carry that same attitude. Confidence is nice, but it's already spilled over into over confidence/cockiness/comical arrogance for scUM players and coaches.

I got to here:

So, 1) you didn't listen to any of the Ohio State contingent at media days talk and 2) you're hoping that Ohio State becomes Michigan.

Country club mentality?

Funny, I don't seem to remember the Ohio State team recently prancing around and singing on the porch of a resort hotel like a bunch of Kansas City faggots.

Loses 2 games, gets pummeled in their finally trip to the playoff. Acts like they own the world

Ohio State goes 11-2, "good season but we shoot for better"

Which is a "country club" mentality here?

DFBIA bringing "my daddy will sue you with his inheritance/lottery money" arrogance.

They conveniently have forgotten how they dodged the Bucks in 2020 because they were getting their asses handed to them by B1G midcarders and figured they'd use the out available to them to avoid what would have been a righteous ass kicking. They act like that isn't a loss...but we all know it's an "L."

They go beyond that, some of them actually have convinced themselves to believe scUM woulda won the game in 2020. Because "their roster was mostly the same team" of course :lol::lol:

That's a whole nother subject. They were only bad in 2020 because of COVID. According to DFBIA

Not like every other team in the conference didn't have to deal with the exact same things.......

In the BEST case of scenarios, that team wasn't finishing better than 6-6 if there was a full schedule in 2020.
