I love how they are still living under the grand illusions that "we can't accept transfers like other schools"

They let fucking SHEA PATTERSON in, they can let anyone in.
Didn’t they have a former player who went on to coach at Stanford who made it clear that UM WOULD take anyone and it was actually Stanford that had to compete with actual scholars.

what was that guy’s name? Hmmmm

I'll predict that things continue to go as is, and DFBIA will make up illusions that their new found savior, Santa, is being sabotaged away from helping them. They will revert back to their "holier than thou" attitude toward paying players and what not. "AT LEAST WE DON'T DO THAT WE ARE VIRTUOUS!"

Makes perfect sense

If dUMb fans can’t convince us that ignoring market realities is a virtue, maybe Santa can. Children have been invoking that name for exactly that purpose for a long time.

Ono's already at it. At his press conference, he pretty much said that tsun was lucky to have a President who's been involved in conference realignment. Ummm (and I'll have to check my notes), but when you were involved in conference realignment didn't you make a bunch of grandiose promises and then end up coming out of that bathroom with nothing but your dick in your hand? What's next, conman, are you going to tell them how lucky they are to have a President involved in applying to the AAU?

Ona took office in August 2012, which was about a year after Syracuse and Pittsburgh had announced they were leaving the Big East, and left in July 2016 with UC in the AAC. So, he was kind of a bystander to conference realignment.

He was a cheerleader, constantly in front of a camera, and the students loved him. But effective as a president? Not so much. I'm sure his public comments tended to irritate the mother ship in Columbus, which wasn't too smart. I don't remember the details of what he did and didn't promise to do for UC, but at the end of the day, I don't think UC got any closer to AAU membership, being designated as an NCI-Designated Cancer Center, being invited into a better athletic conference, or improving its academic ratings while he was at the helm.

I’ll get back to you. I know I wrote that down in my Day-Timer.

Yep, I think it might have been some guy that was brain damaged out of high school (or the womb), and they refused to let him major in Political Science (felt there was no way he could keep up with the reading) and shuffled him off to kinesiology or communications or some such shit.
