They'll be hard pressed to outdo their performance during the early days of Rich Rod but I have no doubt they are prepared to give it a go.

Jesse Minter is reportedly a favorite name for the DC position, which means that Harbaugh’s brother will have basically bailed his ass out once again (with a year at Vanderbilt in between) if that goes through.

Clinkskale is also rumored to be pissed at not getting the promotion to DC and looking to get out.

Not sure i'd call that getting "bailed out"

Vandy was 118th in total defense. I guess he "improved" them from 120th in 2020 but thats no good job even factoring in Vanderbilts obvious disadvantage in the SEC.

This is 11W forum rumors (next post in the link I shared) from MGo forum rumors, but if true it’s funny.

Apparently “Clink” had some performance targets in his contract that would automatically trigger a pay raise or promotion (or something) which he hit until they got their asses kicked in the bowl game, and they aren’t giving him anything, which is why he’s pissed.

I think the most realistic happening is that it quickly becomes apparent that (what we all already figure here) the defense last year was as successful as they were because of them suddenly gaining 2 elite pass rushers out of thing air basically (neither really did much before last year)

Naturally DFBIA mistakes a flash in the pan for being a trend that will continue every year from now on.

The UGA game pretty much showed this, they neutralized Hutchinson and Ojabo and the defense was a sinking ship. The chances of them replacing near the production of those 2 right off the bat is near 0. Whoever they hire is going to have their work cut out for then. Also factor in losing their best LBer and best DB as well.
