For those who don't know, Michigan's reputation as The Harvard of the West arose from the fact that in the 1920s and 1930s the Ivy League schools had quotas on Jewish students. Many East Coast Jewish kids, who were denied entrance into Ivy League schools, opted to head west to Michigan, hence the name Harvard of the West.
You've looked into this more than I have, but the move wasn't limited to Michigan or the 20s and 30s. All Big Ten schools and Penn State benefitted. The number of east coast Jewish students at Ohio State (and Miami and Ohio U) in the 60s was a part of the quota system eastern schools used. It also reflected on the lack of big public colleges in eastern states to absorb the number of students seeking a college education. Syracuse, U Mass, U Conn, and Rutgers were small compared to Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

MICHIGAN WOLVERINES

Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara is a candidate for the transfer portal with the Wolverines set on JJ McCarthy as their starter going forward. McNamara played solidly last year, leading Michigan to a Big Ten championship and playoff berth. McNamara is a former four-star from Nevada in 2019 class. Last season McNamara completed 64% of his passes for 15 touchdowns and four interceptions. He's a smart quarterback that's going to take care of the football and manage the game but he's not going to win you games with arm talent and mobility. McNamara would be ranked as a three-star in the transfer portal rankings.

Yet another statement on how the QB whisperer really knows how to coach 'em up in Ann Arbor.

Allegedly he threatened to rape a rape victim:

"According to allegations, Lewan tried intimidating a woman into not filing charges against Gibbons, telling a friend of the victim that he would "rape her" if she went to police."

Oh, well, that's not that bad then, right?

Fuck that guy!
