Or notThe Maryland game showed exactly why a team shouldn't play a joke early season schedule. It's the 4th game in, and now they have to figure out the issues with their team.

Maryland is not a very good team. They have decent QB and WR and not much else. They'll probably go 7-6 this year. The outcome was in doubt late in the 4th quarter at home. McCarthy is erratic. Their WRs aren't anything special. Their defense let a backup QB who has barely played convert two big 4th and longs and a 3rd and 21. They have problems. That team has issues and I expect they'll get a couple of games where they slip up a couple of times and get beat. They are not scary and they are not the 4th best team in the country. The only thing that I've seen that has truly impressed me is Corum, who has been significantly better than I expected...but he still hasn't had to face much resistance defensively. The Maryland game showed exactly why a team shouldn't play a joke early season schedule. Fair enough.... I wasn't saying they were all that. However, if they get their act together, they can pose problems for OSU with some of the weaknesses OSU has. For example, there were some throws that Mertz threw and the WR had our DB's beat. A better QB could have put a couple on us. Either McCarthy or McNamara are better than Mertz.Maryland is not a very good team. They have decent QB and WR and not much else. They'll probably go 7-6 this year. Oh, I didn't read that as you were. I was just adding my thoughts to your point.Fair enough.... I wasn't saying they were all that. Let's not totally denigrate their team. Do I feel better about OSU playing TTUN now? Absolutely!
They have their moments let's say that. The problem is they have massive brain farts and mistakes at the worst possible times. They have probably the second best WR corps in the conference but until the backup came in today, I had no faith they could get them the ball enough. They should have pressed Taulia to run some today and put pressure on the defense and open up downfield routes. They still cant run the ball for shit though.Maryland is not a very good team. He got hurt last week and is supposed to be out 4 weeks. They better wrap Spin Pass Boy in bubble wrap because if he gets hurt, they're fucked.Where is he? They said Reno Jesus wasn't available today. Has he entered the portal already?
I wouldn’t use the DBs you saw last night against Wisky as a comparison, because we were starting a true frosh and RS frosh in their first games.Fair enough.... I wasn't saying they were all that. Am I the only one who thinks victory is a plant?I wouldn’t use the DBs you saw last night against Wisky as a comparison, because we were starting a true frosh and RS frosh in their first games.
Nope, because I'm also bkb... And I'm no scUM fanI just assume he/she is @Buckeyeskickbuttocks
Nobody has the QB depth like Hairball, he played 8 QBs last week!He got hurt last week and is supposed to be out 4 weeks. They better wrap Spin Pass Boy in bubble wrap because if he gets hurt, they're fucked.

They're certainly not as good as BTN thinks they are - getting to be a real slobber fest over there - but I'm convinced they're not as bad as your post would have us believe. They did what top-tier teams are supposed to do when playing teams like U Conn or Hawaii; they beat the hell out of them. Much of the Big Ten did not do that.
They stumbled around against Maryland despite an early gift TD. Probably discovered that JJ is not as ready for prime time as they thought; especially if the other team has defenders in the same time zone as his receivers.
Looking at the rest of their schedule, I can see Iowa hanging with them for a while, but that Iowa defense is going to be on the field all day because the Iowa offense is damn near non-existent. Indiana is Indiana again. I don't see them stumbling around against Sparty, Rutgers, and Nebraska. They get Penn State at home. At worst, I see them coming to the 'shoe as a 1 loss team.
As for now, the Buckeye offense looks - wow, just wow - but the defense has yet to establish an ability to sack mobile qbs, or get pressure on pocket passers. Some of that can be attributed to good offensive line play by ND and Wisky, some can be attributed to concern over stopping the run. If they establish a pass rush, then my confidence in the chances of routing the wolverines will grow. If not, I predict a very tight game to end the regular season.
Wisconsin looks worse than it really was vs the run due to a 75 yard TD given up by the backups.
The 1st team unit did just fine.
McCarthy seems hesitant to actually run much. He doesn’t concern me too much as of now.
