Don’t forget guys playing for 3 or 4 schools by the end to try and eek out more playing time for a better NIL or to get noticed by the leagueMonetary, yes...but that drives other decisions. 5 years ago, opt outs were unheard of. Now, unless you're one of the four teams in the playoff, there is no real benefit to playing because you risk losing millions. It's always been that way, but the way things are changing, loyalty and pride are taking a backseat to getting to the NFL.
And it's not just that. It's the entire landscape of CFB changing. OU and Tejas essentially killed the Big 12 to go join the SEC leaving all of those other programs burnt to the ground.
I'm not naive. I know CFB has always been a business, but now it's right out in the open and it's unbecoming to me.
