Minutes away from definitely getting the result the US wanted with a 0-0 draw but Iran scores in the 98th.

oh geez, Iran making up some goal differential now. 2-0. Bye bye Wales

US could still technically “Draw” their way through. 3 pts, 0 GD. Iran would be 3, -2.

Yep. Either draw today and Tuesday (Iran). Or lose today and still control own destiny Tuesday. Assuming England takes care of their little brother.

Any “result”/point today would be huge but US very much in control (what could go wrong?)

A draw with Iran would put them at 4. I think our options to get through are 1. Get to 5 points (Tie England & Beat Iran or Beat England & Tie Iran) 2. Beat Iran, lose to England & avoid losing a tiebreaker on goal differential to Wales if they beat England
