2022-2023 College Basketball General Discussion

That's fair. I also think you could do it without necessarily having 5 star recruits too though.

LMU wasn't getting five stars, although they had one guy who was NBA bound before he collapsed and died in their conference tourney. Hank Gathers scored 48 on Shaquille O'Neal that season. But at that pace you need 10 guys in prime shape who can shoot.

I'll never forget that TTUN blowout. Defending national champs got their doors blown off, 149-115.

I've decided I prefer how the women's game is played:

four quarters,
free throws after the 5th foul of each quarter,
no antiquated 1-and-1 (should have disappeared when the 3 point basket entered),
and only one TV time out during a quarter with another between quarters.

All of this. Also like option to advance ball after a TO.

Led to Caitlin Clark’s GW over IU yesterday.

Because each school wants a chance to host the tournament and they want as many games as possible, even if it results in one of their lesser teams getting to the Dance. If it was about rewarding the best teams from the regular season the first place team would host the tourney and not every team in the conference would be invited. For most one-bid leagues the regular season means next to nothing.

The Ivy League, and I think a few others, limit the number of teams and has the regular season champ host. Only the top four Ivy teams play in it, and I think there are others where it's just the top eight.

Chicago State's basketball world tour heads to Gonzaga tonight before wrapping up at Fresno State this weekend. They went independent this season and they've won 11 games, first time they cracked double digits in a decade.

Watching top-seed YSU vs 8-seed Detroit Mercy. Antoine Davis is now within 21 points of Maravich and it hasn't started well for the Pens.
