Re: 2020 Rivals.com New York Top 15

He's the top rated player (and the only 4 star) in NY for 2020. Wouldn't you think as state with as big a population as NY would have a few more highly rated football prospects? And 4 of the top 15 went to the sane HS (i.e. Erasmus Hall Campus).

I think there is at least some truth in the claims that recruiting services just kind of ignore the North East for the most part.

Watching DFBIA trying to convince themselves that these transfers "make sense" is hilarious. Most of them are coming from positions that are black holes (the whole defense) its not like there is a row of proven depth that is scaring these guys off.

"Doesn't fit the new scheme" is an oldie but a goodie. A great corollary to that one is the "freshman X is on the way who does, so the current guy might as well transfer if he wants PT" thing.

Now that the first wave of side splitting laughter has passed and I can concentrate again, should we tell them that just because "reaper" and "wreak" have a similar long "e" sound, they don't mean the same thing?

One is not a reaper because one wreacks havoc anymore than one is a sleeper because one used a beaker in chemistry class.

Also, if we are just handing out nicknames, I am going to give them "The Maginot Line" because offenses can go through it with astonishing ease.
The Reekers.

The new scheme being bigger linebackers like the Ravens use in their 3-4 so they don’t get run over by Wisconsin anymore.

What could possibly go wrong against any other teams on the schedule with such a strategy?

Some are smart enough to be concerned about their ability to recruit bigger linebackers who are athletic/fast enough not to be a complete liability against modern offenses.

Anyone have confidence they can manage to consistently recruit the linebackers they need to duplicate an NFL scheme successfully?

Even if they don't exactly "fit the new scheme" it's not a very good coaching tactic to force players out when you really have nobody to replace them. If they cant or refuse to adapt to the only players available i'd venture to say they arent very good coaches.

So last time the DFBIA opened the hype machine up to full throttle we heard their QB was better than Fields. Some here were cynical enough to wonder aloud about the tsun secondary. Ironically enough it turned out to be biblically woeful.

This year we're getting early reports of greatness from Tyler and The Reekers. I wonder if it might mean something for their OL?

Could just be a coincidence.

They seem to think that if you wish/think something enough it will eventually manifest itself
